Lets talk acceleration here!

Ok I hear short ram is the thing to do. I have cia but my question is: What's the best for sheer get up and go? I have heard a lot about high-end in terms of a downpipe and such.....but what about off-the-line? Thanks for the help.

as far as intakes? well, anyhting that flows really well will work, The less resistance the intake has the easier it is on the turbo to suck the air through it. Anyhting to increase throttle response will help the "get up and go". edit- there's a trade-off, higher flow can sometimes lead to poor filtration. is 1 or 2 extra hp worth caking up some sensors, trashing a turbo, or ruining your whole engine?

Also anything to reduce the weight, rotating mass, blah blah... if all you want is acceleration, go study drag car setups.

generally speaking everything after your engine is going to help your high end (exhaust) and everything before your engine can help your mid/low and even high like your cai, also your throttle response. if you are stayina NA look into a bored throttle body, intake manifold, or engine management (rrm piggy back, e-manage). The SRI you are gonna get will kick in a bit sooner than your cai as well. i would know i've had both of rrm's. good luck!

that pulley should help. maybe a new clutch, and engine damper for faster revs.

/\/\ My friend, you are talking about 2 very diffrent cars. Though your theories still apply, you have forgotten that this a NA Ralliart here

SRI will be better then a CAI for throttle response.

ah haha missed that. it's been a long day. well i think everything i said still works although i'm not sure if all those parts are offered for the RA. there is one thing that is for sure though, your NA mods on that 4g69 are gonna be a lot more worthwhile than mine!

I have an AEM sri and in my opinion its pretty good. I mean its not the best but then again its not moderate. Intake is intake to me so i went for the sri. I recently jst detatched the air scoop under our hood and performance was more noticable. The local shop told me the scoop should stay to help air come in but its like the complete opposite. Yea its not a big difference because its jst intake but the difference is there. When racing my homeboys stock 350z I can easily get him off the line but once he hits that 3rd gear hes long out of there, and hes a good driver too but more into drifting. Thats why now im looking for more top-end power.

Have a look under the front of the car were the front wheels are and around by the front wheel arches there is about 4 pieces of molded plastic which are very easy to remove and modify - you may want to remove some of these so that air can flow through and into the engine bay but still leave it so that the bottem plastic bits are still there this will make some small amount of difference
If you go Cold air with the long pipe make sure that it does not have 90* bends as each 90* bend is equal to a lose of power of 7%

If you're staying NA, there are some very easy ways to get more acceleration:

Fill your motor mounts (everyone should do this)
Basic intake (CAI or SRI)
Port/polish your intake manifold
Remove your cat, either with RRM's downpipe (can be had cheap) or the new header/dp combo
Piggyback

Those mods will get you a lot more high-end power, which makes your car accelerate a lot faster.

It could just be the illusion of the "butt-dyno" but I've run my injen both CAI and SRI, and I've noticed more power down low with the CAI, and a little more top end with the SRI.

Just a quick question. Can you fill the tranny mount the same way as you would fill the engine mounts? The tranny mount on my auto is very sloppy and filling along with having my engine damper on would eliminate probably 80% of movement.
