You dont need to remove your bumper for installation. It was a lot easier for me to remove the front drivers side tire/wheel though. I started with a bypass valve, but then took it off (I noticed a significant gain in low end power after removing it). Watch out for vaccum leaks, and be sure to reset the ecu (disconnect the battery from pos/neg terminal for 5 mins+ or so. Yes, the whistling or hissing sound up to 3500 rpms is normal. Some have reported a rough or choppy idle but I never had a problem with this. Cant think of anything else, hope this helps. Good luck with your purchase, hope you like it.

First, you'll love the sound, especially the higher you rev., you sound find a little better top end, some people say that you loose some lower end power. The difference between stock and CAI, you will feel the difference.

make sure everything is nice and tight once you get done. after you install, let it sit and idle for about 15 minutes for the ecu to "learn" a little bit. Turn car off for a few minutes, then start her up and go for a ride.
Hit MIVEC, keep it there, and enjoy!

I've often heard or read cai=loss of low end torque. I waited a long time to get one because of this. Finally put injen on last month. I feel NO loss in low end. If anything, it builds more evenly/smoothly. Maybe offset by the RRM pulley I have? You will still go through the Eagle RSA's in record time! There is a slight delay in throttle response - maybe this is what people are referring to. It feels a bit like turbo lag but shorter time - like a quarter of a second or something. It won't bother you at all. The rough idle is slight and just when you first start the car. After that it seems to idle lower - I can barely hear it. Enjoy!

I put my CAI in yesterday. It 'growls' so loud at high rpms under load. It also sounds like a diesel if I put it in high gear at real low speeds.

Short ram

I have the Injen CAI short ram in mine and my friend has the full intake, there isn't a huge difference except mine was easier to put in.

Really? I was under the influence that the SRI really, and i mean really bogged out the lower end power. But up top i heard it killed. If there really isn't that much a difference i may start rethinking which one i wanna get. By the way congrats on the mod.

Like I said he has the full intake I have short ram and there isn't a noticable difference. It sounds almost the same and still has a growl and awesome turbo sounding noise at high RPMS, the short ram also only takes about 20 minutes to install. I'm not a pro on this so I'm sure others will input and give you advice. I also have a catback flowmaster system on mine which makes it sound really good as well.

EDIT: I bought the full ram but it said it could also be used as a short so I have the injen full ram converted to a short ram, IMO I think it puts out more power than the short ram that is designed for a short ram.
