Find out if our condenser is the same as the one used in the other Lancers/Evos (have the guy at the parts counter check the part numbers). There's always Lancers/Evos being parted out, so you should be able to find one cheaply.

stupid question, but I gather this isn't covered under warranty because of the mileage on the car right? Otherwise it would be covered?

Mine broke a few weeks ago and I only have 32k miles, but at least it was covered under warranty.

From: Akron, OH (but Philly is where my heart is)
I've had mine for 2 and half years now and on my trip out to Philly a couple weeks ago (happened to be the most humid weekend of the entire summer too) I tried my AC and it was spitting out air that was barely cooler than the outside air. Since the air coming out is still slightly cool does that mean that I just need freon (sp?) or is this the beginning stage of my AC unit going out? Also, should this be covered under the factory warranty?

ES, LS, OZ= MR500253

Ralliart= MR500250

Unfortunately, the one for the Ralliart is about $150 more than the other one new. Mitsubishiparts.com lists them for $720.

Car-part.com has used ones for $125-150.

hm.. my A/C makes a clunking sound when i turn it on.. i've tried to use those autozone recharge kits thinking it might need to be recharged, it'll blow well for a bit then about a day later it'll start clunking again. It works on/off everyonce in a while so i know there isn't a leak... just seems like something isn't workin. Any suggestions?
