Alright in the event of your friend and his experience brings up a couple of questions. Was his pulley machined balanced? What material was it made from? Was it installed cofrrectly? What failed? How can they pinpoint the pulley to failure?

I'm not sure what happend to his pulley.. I think his was built with the similar aluminum. and I think he said that it cracked or something.. Everyone so far haven't had any problems with it so I trust u guys.. thx

If it was a cheap cast pulley I could see it breaking... My brother bought a really inexpensive pulley kit once for his 240sx and it was cast... He ran it, but I was not a huge fan of the inferior materials...

If the pulley was cast it would be heavier and a horrible upgrade.

Any good pulley is spun and CNC milled out of aluminium. If you drop the pulley and damage it or something else stupid then of course it might have caused the problem. I cannot see any reason how the pulley would fall apart.

I'm proud to say I was in the first group to buy the pulley when joe first started making them. I've also put nearly 20K miles on mine and its goin strong. In my oppinion, as far as cost effectiveness goes this is still the best mod I've put on my car, besides maybe the heated throttlebody mod that cost me about 3 bucks. If you follow the directions that come with the pulley, you should have no difficulty installing this part the right way. I know that Joe used to even have a video up, perhaps he still does somewhere.....? RRM should be hosting that stuff if ya do, videos rule.

I don't think so either. I work in a metal distribution and processing plant and I have never seen cast aluminum. In any case, the aluminum rod and bar are usually an extrusion, and even aluminum dies are extrusions and not castings.

Transmission bellhousings are cast, then machined. Same with aluminum cylinder heads.
