If they stick with the current pricing on their website, it'll run about $750 for the interceptor. I thought they were going to carry the mini-ceptor, too, which would be less expensive, but also less functional.

The miniceptor unit has been held off for about another 6 months or so due to problems with teh circuit boards.

That is something we will be working on as well to complement our range of plug and play kits for the RA models. We already do plug and plays for the 2.0 4G94 lancer in both Haltech E6X and E8 model ecu systems

I have been in contact with Haltech, and good news is they are coding the software now for the crank trigger and hot wire air flow meter sensor. Tomorrow they will be testing it on the car to see if it all works.

This is great news cause this now means we can properly tune the cars on fuel and ignition, change the mivec changeover point and tune accordingly, have duel mapping for your low and hi octane fuels the list is endless to a degree.

We are quite excited about this - it has a lot of potential for everyone.

Will update everyone tomorrow when we have some more news.

Excellent news.... so with Haltech having done all this, all of this new info can then be transferred over to my E8?

Very interested in the mivec change over point

We could already change the mivec point on your car Christine, but we found with the turbo side of it that there was no benefit to doing so, it was setup pretty right. Saying that on a retune I would change a few things on it to make it better but thats another job for another day.

I really could not imagine there would be any changes that I would really want done on the car as it drives perfectly anyway... but the opportunities that can arise from this development will give people more choices when thinking more performance mods that need some sort of additional ECU support... especially with regards to ignition timing

Update

Slight Delay

Car has been taken back from Haltech as they've got all the work they needed from the stock ecu.

Now they're working on the coding which will be ready by Janurary 2nd 2007.

They will be closed from 22nd December (I think) and be re-opening on Janurary 2nd 2007. I will be then dropping my car then as the coding will be finished by then and all Haltech needs is just one day to install and tune.

A great way to start the new year for 2007.

Will keep you all updated.

P.S For N/A cars, when do you think the mivec point should be changed? About 4500rpm?

On my car, I'd love to be able to change it to around 4000-4500. That way I can cruise on the freeway at a normal speed without sucking up extra gas, but still have MIVEC right there for passing power.

I would think about 3500rpm as our cruise speed doing 110klm is at 3200rpm 120klm is about 3400rpm so mivec at 3500rpm would be slightly more advantagous you would get more throttle response... and everyday driving around town if you did your changes at 4000rpm you would be in mivec... tough choice I suppose it comes down to what sort of driving that you do but that is the beauty of this Interceptor that it can be changed to suit individual driving styles

3500 is about where it is stock. Speed limits here are about the same as there, however, the flow of traffic is more around 80, which puts the RPMs into MIVEC, which is annoying.
