If you just crack the window at highway speeds you will see most of the smoke get sucked out and if you put your cig up to the cracked window it will basically suck the ash out.

One thing that I will admit that bothers me is burn marks. I guess accidents happen but if you are careful they can be avoided. Now I make my friends ash and throw their cigarettes in the ashtrays rather than out the window and I havent had a problem since I made that rule.

before I had my lance i had an old tuck with leather seats...I smoked in it all the time ..the smell never lingers in it
