AWD Project Work Diary Thread
Do you have a specific reason why you think it won't work, or is it just a hunch?
This past weekend I had a good look at an Evo control arm off the car, and Diavlo is right, everything is the same except the material they're made out of. You'd be surprised, despite what Evo owners will tell you, how much the Evos really have in common with the rest of the Lancers.

The EVO's front arms actually sit the wheels further forward than the regular Lancer.
If you swap the EVO's front lower control arms into your Lancer... your front wheels will end up hitting the front of your wheelwells.
I will have pics later.
Also, are you still using the Lancer front crossmember or did you swap over to the Evo front crossmember? Is the added .9" of wheelbase achieved because the lower control arms or a difference in mounting on the front crossmember?
The added wheelbase will indeed cause the wheel to rub on the front of the fender and the bumper.
So then the Evos have longer fenders from front to back and the front bumper is mounted a bit differently to them.
I see. Did you have a chance to lay the Evo and Lancer front lower control arms on top of one another to compare size and shape? Is the Evo control arm longer to the effect that it gives the wheel base that extra .9"?
We have a plan for all eventualities! I'll fit em to mine - if they cause problems - I'll sell em! If this was a thread about swapping to evo control arms my dreams would probably now be shattered, however I'd like to try them on my car to see what happens. If I really want to use them, I do have a flared arch kit I could use to make them look centered again! We'll see!
