underhood shift bushing amount of movement

hey just need some insight from ppl who have underhood bushings, I just installed the kartboy bushing there is a little bit of play between the cotter pin and the bushing like there is room for the bushing(plus outside thingy) to move up and down or side to side(dependign on bushing) before it hits the cotter pin. is that normal?, or should i add an additional washer or 2 to elimnate movement. ( you reuse the factory for kartboys unlike brass or alum)

Wouldn't be a bad idea to add a single washer to it. The up/down movement probably isn't too big of a deal, but I don't like the idea of not having a metal barrier between the cotter pin and the poly bushing.

I actually didn't add a washer to mine. I left them just as it was. I have the zaklee aluminum ones... I also added assembly lube. I don't really notice any bad from there being play. I also don't think there is enough play to make a difference.

He got the poly bushings, so his situation is different than those with aluminum/brass bushings.

yea i did add the factory metal washer to it so the pin shouldnt touch the poly bushing, i just sprayed some wd40 on prob will go back and add some grease not too worried since they are poly and less likely to bind will Lithium auto Grease do ?

Thanks for the insight.

any evo 8 transmission busings will do i got mine from kartboy ( polyutherane) only because i was worried about maintance on the metal ones(binding greasing corosion cleaning once in a while laziness etc) there are many to chose zaklee aluminum speeds source brass authority the list goes on many vendors/sponsors on the forum here carry them spedsource had the brass ones cheap ... kartboy i got the underhood and shifter base for a combo deal pretty cheap.

def worth it the shifts feel real nice now only with the underhoods, waiting for the short shifter so i can do base bushings at the same time.
