Carbon Fiver Hood (vented)

Has anyone that has a vented carbon hood got any problems with rain and sun??? in the motor or any other part cuz what I just get is a lot of dirt in and the header get rusty and a lot of heat out!!

I ask, cuz some people when they see the ventilation open, they look at me and say ''what happens when it rains?'' and thank God nothing has happend and I've been in storms believe me its been raining here in PR for like a week straight none stop hehehe...

But could anything happen???

OPINIONS!!!!!!!

yeah, an engine fire would **** me off too. sounds like you need some kind of baffle if you want to run it with the vent open.

How about trying to find out if the stock evo cover fits, or maybe making it fit? Ive seen some evo owners taking it out of their hoods to help extract the heat faster, so they should be around

I dont know much about the situation excuse my newbness but with the rrm cf hood it comes vented and thats what i want but so your saying rain and stuff gets in the vents and causes problems? there has to be some kinda fix other than "not getting vented" it just looks too bad *** not to get it vented.

Well that’s what they say it causes some problem but it depends on the situation I haven't had any and I live in PR and it is constantly raining...

I had mine opened all the time. As long as u dont use any crappy ebay coils you should be good. I got water on my crappy coils but the oem was very well sealed.

This may be off topic a bit since I don't have an 04, but my seibon hood is vented and has a removable rainguard on it. Check around and research and see if anyone makes a cover or if you can find a way to put the cover on the vented hood. If the weather is dry/cold, etc. I leave or take the cover off, but if it rains or I hear it might rain I put it back on. I Usually keep it in my car in case there is random rain.
