so i decided to do the front brakes on my car last night (2004 ralliart sportback) so i do one side and all is good, go to the right side take the wheel off and guess what i see!! stabilizer bar is just hanging there.... the bolt that holds it to the suspension fell out. ok not a big deal, call the dealership order the part, they tell me it will be in for tuesday, so i get brakes changed and im tightening the last bolt (bottom guide pin) and as i tighten all i hear is "SNAP" and the head of the bolt is now in my hand so i call the dealership order a new slider pin and the bolt...... and it will be in on tuesday so now i have no car for the weekend... this sucks......



p.s. point of the story...... i suck at fixing cars

 

1st problem, rusty endlinks do break, fairly common...

2nd problem, Monkey Fist, also fairly common...

 

Wow, how tight were you trying to make that bolt?? It's only supposed to be 35 ft/lbs.

Also, rental cars FTW.

 

+eleventy billion on that one, that's how I ended up with a new head.

 

lol. thats hilarious. not your misfortune, just your comment. we all have those days, and yeah, you musta been really reefin on that bolt to snap it. and rental cars FTW indeed. haha go take your agression out on a poor rental car. haha
