Fender Bender or more?

So today on my commute to work,
there was so much more traffic than the usual...

i kept receiving texts and out of frustration looked down to turn
the phone off and as I looked up i saw red lights.
were talking about 5mph, hit the brakes but still got a bump out of it.

we got out and looked at one another's cars, (she had an SUV, and its bumper was about level with the front of my hood) and we both saw no damage so agreed were ok and were off.
As i got back to my car i noticed it looked like my hood was about 1/2 popped.
So i opened the hood, closed it... still looked partially open.

Im worried about that because i know if i catch enough wind resistance im gonna pull a tommy-boy.

if you look at my car from a side angle, it looks like the middle of the hood is a little over the rest of the fender... but just barely...

Is it possible I just bent the hood? I dont even have any paint damage or anything... which amazes me... did I bend the frame?

I dont really know what to do now... havent had a nice car to take care of after accidents... normally would just drive it as is... but this is the lancer ...
any advice?

As long as the hood latch is securely closed, it's not going to flip up and break your windshield. No you didn't bend the frame. You probably just bumped the hood out of allignment with the fenders, or you dented the hood slightly. No worries. Just take it to a body shop and see if they can't re-allign it without any body work.

Car hoods have bend spots engineered into them so they fold up in a collision. It sounds like you just barely started to fold yours.

The body shop should be able to straighten it out pretty easily, or you could put the money towards a CF hood.

Yes i was thinking that too.
talked to the collision shop.
$102.23 to fix it and buff the scuff.

Hes pretty sure its the hinges just need to be re aligned.
if its not, i agree... i will buy a CF hood.

thanks to all that has helped!
I'll keep you posted.

If it's the hinges, you and a buddy can try to do it yourselves, just pop it open, lossen the bolts enough to have a little movement (Dont take them off!! the hood is heavy and it'll be a bit hard to hold it in position) and once you think you moved it enough to align it, tighten and test fit. Keep doing it until its aligned. Hope it gets resolved soon.
