Exclamation this is a public service announcemnt (Valve Stems from SuperStreet Magazine)

anyone using the valve caps that came free with an issue of super street a few months ago.

if they are on your car take them off now while you can...

i had to use two sets of vise grips and liquid wrench to get these things off my tire valves today becuse they were so corroded..

i ruined one valve in the process which i'll be going to get fixed tomorrow morning

last time i use anything that comes free in a magazine

What kind of material was used for the valve stems? I never heard of valve stems doing that before.

Yea take some photo's of them so we at least know what to avoid.. Just because they came with a mag, doesn't mean they aren't being sold on the streets.

(personally i just run the plastic caps.. too many little kids like to steal those chrome things)

Are you referring to the ones shaped like pistons? I think they came with a magazine last summer?

+1, i do the same. so many kids around my apartment building just steal the nice looking ones. I guess if I did shows I'd just swap them when showing, but yeah. anyways. that sucks they corroded and got stuck. I too never use free stuff that comes with magazines unless I know for sure what or who made it.

I've never has my aluminum stems/caps stolen, but Discount Tire did lose some of mine. Cool thing was the store mgr said to buy the same set and give him the receipt; he gave me cash for the replacement! Another reason I love Discount Tire.

Anytime you're screwing metal into metal, anti-seize is your friend (with a few exceptions.)

Its valve stem caps, relax people... They were probably just corroded due to salt/bad weather... Happens all the time, even on brand new Honda's in the last few years... They have all since gone to plastic caps though...

If they are the ones I mentioned above, I put them on my stock rims because I was missing 2 caps. I dont run those wheels in the snow but went out to the shed to check them out anyway, they're fine. I guess just dont put em on in the winter and you'll be ok.
