Battery Keeps Dying?
Battery Keeps Dying?
Hey, I got an '04 RA with a battery that is continuously dying.
Started about a month ago... first time was right after (within a few hours of driving it out of the shop) having a Clutch Masters aluminum flywheel and stage 1 clutch installed, and it has happened at least 5 more times since then.
The battery is only 1 year old. I had them test it and they say everything seems to be fine with both it and the alternator.
On weekends I drive 50miles from college to home to stay the weekends. After making the trip it dies with almost 100% certainty the next time I go to start it up. Then it will run fine the rest of the weekend/week.
I am going this weekend to have them test it under load, but wondered if anybody has any ideas? They wont replace the battery under warranty unless their gauge tells them it is reading poorly, which it hasn't yet.
Thanks

If you don't have an accessory wired in that is using current while the engine is off, then the battery is bad. The clue that the alternator that is dying or dead is when the dashboard lights up like a Christmas tree now and then.
I've had new batteries and new alternators crap out after only a few months service. Things ain't built like they used to be.

I agree wit RalliartN, i had bought a "brand new" battery for my RA and within a week the battery crapped out on me. Took it back and it was completely dead.
Best thing is to make sure that there are no wires that will drain the battery
