Ripps Supercharger help!

Hey all just recently bought the ripps supercharger from someone and the only things i got was the voltex supercharger thats on the shaft and pulley, greddy bov, and upgraded 550cc injectors. He told me im going to need a mounting bracket, belt and the piggyback ecu. i was wondering do i need anything else besides those things if so what is it? and does anyone have a mounting bracket just sitting there that you want to sell? thanks.

Heh, someone only sold you a half kit? Kinda sounds like you got screwed to me. Only place you're going to find that stuff is from Ripp.

Very few people on this forum are running that kit. I would guess that you have to stop by a machine shop to have something fabricated. As for additional parts i would suggest an upgraded fuel pump an possibly spark plugs.

Well if everything's in good shape you got a pretty good deal for what you got. The kit in its entirety was about $3,500 when they were still selling it. Just checked their website and there's nothing listed for the 4G69 anymore.

Give ripp a shout they can probably still get you the required stuff. Or maybe hackish can do something so you won't need the piggy? Like someone else stated worse case hit up a machine shop. I work at a shop and something like that would be fairly simple to whip up

The only thing Ripp sells now that can be applied to our cars is a Tuner Package for the SDS unit; which only comes with the supercharger, drive shaft, pulley, belts, hoses, and some piping. The rest need to be bought elsewhere. You said you needed a mounting bracket, belt, and piggyback. The mounting bracket is sold within Ripp's Tuner package and I doubt they'd be willing to sell it by itself. You may need to go to a machine shop for that one if they aren't willing. The belt can be bought anywhere and if you need to know what size I'm sure Ripp knows since it's their kit. As for the piggy back, that's a no no. In case you didn't already notice Ripp has already ceased production on their electronics as a whole since they never really got em to work properly in the first place. A AEM ems or something like that may not work that well either. I've been on 4g eclipse boards and I seriously could not find one person who got the Ripp supercharger to work right. When it comes to this i think your only option may be hackish. he is currently in the process of making a reflash for the SDS unit. If that fails, i suggest you getting rid of the unit.

Ya i have researched about it and yes i know that they have stopped making them. But isnt the piggyback the same as the reflash bascially besides the reflash you have way more options? Plus i already bought the unit so i wanna give it a shot at least right?

Piggyback and reflash are quite different same concept but different results IMO

A piggyback is not adequate for a supercharger. Piggybacks only work at wide-open throttle, so for normal around town driving, the SC would be leaning the car way out. You'd need a flash, or stand-alone, so you can tune for all engine loads.
