Myszkewitz gets credit for the idea. All you do is cut the paper material out of the car's filter then cut out a piece of a furnace filter to fit the frame and cram it in there. Use a better quality filter like a 3M one, not the blue fiberglass filters.

my mistake, Myszkewitz your the man

this is a pretty good/cheap alternative. the ones off ebay are hella cheap too. but this would prob be cheaper and you can make more then just out of one filter.
