yeah...it does seem like a bit much....i got mine in Halifax for $5600...160,000k 2004 RA

Check kijiji or craigslist for other RA's cause most seen to go between 8-10k for 2006 in good condition. I'm not saying to buy one from kijiji but you can use it as ammo if you go look at this one.

All you need to ask is a few simple questions but the 5 lug gave it away for me also

My RA was 12.6 with 54,000k from a dealer, my brothers spec-v was like 11.6 with 76,000k from a dealer as well. That's just how these cars are priced here, private sale I've seen my car go for anywhere between 6-15g with the same or even double the clicks I'd bought mine with, condition of the cars varying slightly. The turbo'd or modded sold in the lower range and the closer to stock sold in the higher range, that's where mine fell at the time. In retrospect I still think I paid a good price comparing it to yesterdays and todays market no matter what anyone tells me. The dealership where I work had and RA just like mine traded in with 68,000km, they said it was worth 10g and sold it for just over 13.

Canadian dollar may be play money to some but where I'm situated we have the strongest economy in the country, even quoted best in north america, so no worries for me, "more" money need to purchase stuff with but I'm paying with a strong dollar with a spine that supports my province and a GDP like many others that actually supports my country.

^^^What he said. I bought mine last year, a 2004 RA with 108 000kms on it for 9k... and it was a steal. RA's in the same shape as the one I bought ranged from 12-15k's. I've also seen 17+ for a 2006 (which is dumb). Some Mitsubishi dealer tried selling me one suppodedly in good shape, but it was missing front lip, broken sunroof, scratches all over (mostly around the key hole), and have been beaten to death (I recognized the car, it belonged to a friend of mine who is the cause of me buying mine, he didn't really took care of it and had several drunk crashes with it) for 11k's. If the car is in good shape, that IS a good price. That doesn't mean you can't try negociating it a bit.

As for 16.5k's Evo's, I dare anyone to try to find one in Canada for that price.

Good Luck!

You think yours was a steal??? I bought my 2005 RA 2 months ago with 103k miles for $4000. The only problem it had was the O2 CEL which I fixed it.

Somewhere US lancer prices were being compared to CAN prices, which are generally more. You paid in USD (which in recent time has been the failing dollar), which means you paid less anyways to compensate for that. But your mileage at that time would have been about 166000k, which is fairly high mileage for a 2005 model car, that's about double the Canadian average of about 12-16000km a year (or 7500-9500 miles). 2 months ago after depreciation and currency conversion you'd have gotten the same car where I am from, with the CEL's and 33000 averaged kms/year in the private market for about the same value, the fact you got a ralliart for $4000 could be considered a steal but looking at the specifics you got what you'd paid for haha.

On a second glance at the ad I think it's a ralliart without a shadow of doubt. After playing with the source image blown up and tweaked I'm postive I see rear disc brakes too. Keep in mind they want 12.5 for 100000+km, not sure how the market is in BC but I'd paid 12.6 for 54000km (but its an 04)

Sure looks like a Ralliart. Look for the Mivec valve cover and the header as opposed to an exhaust manifold (should be under a heat shield). Here's my engine bay:

Ok, the ralliart I looked at today had its own problems too...

It drives great, with only 40k kms on it. But is a rebuilt, and the messiest problem is going to be MOLD...

The guy owns a shop, so he bought the car off salvage, and fixed it. The car didn't have a driver window for a few months, so due to the elements mold has infested in it...

I believe its everywhere, seats, on the dash, and I think its INSIDE the vents as well... for the people who have taken the front console apart. Is getting inside the vents easy? There are also glass pieces in the vents when i turned up the Fan. So probably need to shove a vacuum in there. Difficult? Easy?
