not sure if evo cable would fit...doubt it, or part number would be the same...

part number for RA is MN100377 about 35$

mitsubishiparts.net, jnztuning.net or similar...dealer will charge 200%...lol

Evo cable is probably a different length (shorter) since it routes very differently in the engine bay.

1)I'd get a the oem replacement and re-route the throttle cable to go behind the motor , near the intake manifold...2)get the oem replacement and route it like always but wrap it in a thermal reflective wrap/shield , your local auto parts should have it.

+1, those were pretty much the 2 options I had in mind.

Correct. This happened to me about a month ago. The rubber sleeve melted and went through into the metal casing/wrap that goes over the actual cable and dried in there. The next time I went to turn it on and hit the gas it was stuck.

This was at 6:30pm after work on a Friday. Some of my co-workers and I started a fire in the parking lot with some leaves and liquid wrench, remelted the cable while my buddies pulled on either end and the melted sleeve came out.

I'm still using that same cable but properly secured. It probably came loose when I got in a fender bender.
