if you think ur car is not track ready...mine's almost stock still...
with the exception of the shifter bushings it is actually...
(but after i get the trans and clutch in...i'll @ least have the solid motor mounts in and maybe i'll have enough leftover to get sumn else)
and hopefully if i do go up, maybe i'll get a jump on getting tires for my 17's..so @ least i wont LOOK 100% stock..lol

ps i talked to my wife and her response was..."umm...are wives invited?...or maybe that'll just be a guy's weekend?...."

oh wow that sounds nice man! 17's on the RA
i was also thinking of doing the shifter bushing DIY in the how-to section just to get a better feel when shifting and and also replace the shifter base bushings..
that would be a nice little start-up project for a n00b like me ahaha!

LOL @ your wife's response
my girlfriend said the same thing and i think it means "BRING ME OR ELSE YOU'RE NOT GOING"

i'm pretty sure EVERYONE is invited as long as you're riding in your RA

WOOT WOOT!

i'm actually really excited about this

Well at the track you take all your stuff out of the car so it doesn't go flying when you attack the corners and such, so it'd be great to have someone there to watch it while you're driving.

im pretty excited too if i'm able to go...hopefully it's a weekend so i dont need to take days off work..lol

but really, she has a SERIOUS aversion to anything car related, especially when it's MY car...(well technically her "other car"...the title's in her name...lol)
im prettty sure she's not saying one thing meaning another

she just about hates my car...altho she does acknowledge that in 4 years we've owned it it's never had any issues even tho it's 9 yrs old now...(aside from the starter going out on me which i replaced with one that lasted 3 months till it just stopped working at all...then the warranty replacement lasted 3 months till it had the solenoid fall off...which i replaced again with another warranty one that lasted another 3 months till the solenoid fell off also...but that one i just fixed and told the people it was not working at all, and they sent me a new one again but told me to keep the "broken one"...so now i have a spare..)...and i lost my alarm keyfob once but that's technically not breaking down...i just couldn't drive it for 2 days till the audio shop opened and i was able to buy 2 new remotes and get them programmed...

i figured u run the car when it's emptied of crap from inside...
but i just figured since i'll propbably be at a hotel, i'll leave as much as possible there(luggage etc) and deal with certain small things i'd leave inside the car(papers in glovebox, ipod, etc)

of course you can bring your wife, you could stay with me if you don't mind crashing on an air matress, lol it's a queen

but seriously, i'm looking to buy a bigger house this summer, my daughter just graduated to a toddler bed, but she's still in our room cause it's bigger, and my son has a lot of stuff...so maybe i'll have a guest room by the time you come up.

they don't have the test & tune/ mix&match dates up yet

a saturday mix&match would be ideal, that's what we did last time...and it was a good turn out...friday evenings aren't the best scenario for the toronto and ottawa guys...

haha...u're planning on getting a bigger house..
i'm planning on just getting a house...we've been looking for about a month now...
just put in for an approval for the mortgage and hopefully we get approved....saturday we have about 6 houses lines up to go see back to back...so i hope that doesn't affect going..(as we're trying to move hopefully by end f march, maybe april at the latest)

i'd be fine sleeping on a air mattres not 100% about my wife tho...we do it when we're camping tho, so im sure she'd be ok(provided she decided to go)

nice..
we're looking for ~1500sq/ft, 3 bed, 2 bath, preferrably with 2 car garage and full basement(also preferrably finished)
we just found a condo with that exactly and it's in our price range but i dont think we'll be able to get it...we're using a "special" mortgage thing for 1st time buyers and soem kind of grant to help w the down payment and online it says it qualifies for this place...but the realtor and banker say the qualification expires monday, and they dont plan on renewing or making the changes to requalify it...
it's even not only in the same block we already live in, but our apartment complex and this condo complex actually attach at the back..there's a gate separating the 2..(dont know why there's a gate, but it's there, it's locked 24/7/365)

but theres still a bunch of places we're looking into, so its not a huge deal, but we REALLY like that one tho...so that kinda sucks

A heated garage would be fantastic.

I 've looked into natural gas and used oil heaters, not priced for the feint of heart.

Iff you only want heat so that the odd time you have work to do in winter you wont freeze to death, then I think an electric in wall or base board heater is the way to go since it will only be on for the time that you're out there.

Right now I use a space heater and open the door from the house to the garage and that's acceptable, temp can get to double figures.
My garage walls are insulated but not the doors.

Dont forget to check if the ceiling will allow for one of these:

yea that would be awesome to have a heated garage...i know when i went to otter's house the time we did the timing belt he just had a torpedo heater in the garage and actually it wasn't too bad...the floor was cold but it wasnt too bad otherwise...specially since it was below freezing outside...it probably would've gotten warmer if we kept the door closed...but he figured it's safer to keep it open so we dont die in case of any fumes from the heater...

if we were able to get a house i'd defenetly try to fully insulate the garage...as for the door...im not sure...lol im pretty sure it'd be quite expensive to buy a new insulated one..or maybe i can just get like 30 cans of "great stuff" and make some insulation with for the door...lol...might be cheaper...lol

the lift would be awesome, but it'd be probably better suited for a pole barn or sumn...or just make a workshop instead of working out of the garage

, there was a smaller lift I saw for under $1000 that was made for home use, but I could not find it.
Dont forget a proper compressor and air tools.
Kijiji is your friend.

I had big plans to start shooting again, the company I worked for even had a gun club but they folded like an old, wet paper bag and money (lack there of) forced me to choose just one hobby so it's the car.

haha...if you go tomost part stores and look at their shop and industrial catalog you can find all kinds of lifts...ussually around the $1000+ price...
and if you get a scissor lift(~3ft/~1m of total lift) you can actually fit it in a real garage(vs a pole barn or workshop with raised ceilings)
