its a different rim its not like the thing has been in a major accident, as long as it drives straight, doesn't shake, is the same size with the same tire on you'll be fine

This car drives straight, doesn't shake, and the wheel is the same as the others, just a different style. I'm excited to get the car and drive it home but at the same time my heart sinks when I think of the problems that it might cause me. I'm confused because I thought this car (including warranty, certification, emission testing, servicing and taxes) was a great buy @ $5000 CAD all-in-all. I hope I'm making the right decision by going through with it. My goal is to have this car's stock parts replaced by something better. Maybe in a year or so I'll have it in top quality shape like all of your RAs out there. I have a big dream for this one

i'm glad to see that you have all this enthusiasm for the car. we all started in stock/near stock from the beginning and got to where we are. just got to get stated is all. i would say with the warranty that they gave you that would ease my worry a little bit but like i said take a mechanic friend if you have one with you to the dealership to check out the car and whatnot

I absolutely love this forum! I feel very encouraged and at ease because I got "back up"! LOL!

Can't wait to post up more pics of this car when I grab it. My friend, who's a mechanic, is at the dealership, as we speak. He called me and told me that the engine and transmission are in VERY good shape. He's checking out the body right now and will call me back as soon as he's done looking at it.

I hope to hear the good news through this damn phone or I will rip it apart

no offence, but your comment has no merrit, you don't know the car, you have no idea why the wheel is different, saying you know for sure the wheel isn't different because it was in an accident or sustained damage from a deep pot hole or whatever, which could have possibly damaged the suspension, or chassis is stupid, because you don't know.

just because it drives straight and doesn't shake, doesn't mean there are no problems, maybe the camber and toe are maxed out in one direction just to keep it straight, that's not good...

if you buy used cars without thorough inspection, based on whether is shakes or not, that's your choice, but it's terrible advice...

This forum is great for information. It is really smart your mechanic friend is taking a look at the car prior to purchase.

My point earlier was not to alter your choice of purchasing the car. I was simply expressing my opinion because I wish I had done the same prior to purchasing my (now sold) RA.

Yeah only when im driving :-( any suggestions? My friend told me that if the dealer did the safety, cert and e-test then he should be responsible for any mechanical problems that arises. Is that true? Im bringing it back to him tmrw for the rim replacement. Ill talk to him about repairs too. Thanks man!

hi guys i just woke up.

when i test drove the car it had a noise but in the rear left wheel. he told me that he changed all the pads and replaced the rear right calliper. it didn't sound like that before. i asked my mechanic and he says that it just needs to be adjusted. also my mech says that there's a bigger gap from wheel to quarters in the front than the back. that means the front is higher off the ground than the rear. is that weird? i think i need to get the suspension checked out again. this is the start of my lancer life lol. hope everything goes well. i'm willing to put money on this car. i love it!!!

thanks for all your help and concerns!
