RA Rims

I'm picking up my '04 RA today but I have one additional problem -- one of the rims on the car is different from the others. It's an OZ rim instead of the stock RA rim. Should I be suspicious? I want to get a cheap but good set of rims for my RA. Does anyone know where I can grab those from? I live in Toronto so I'm guessing local would be better so I wouldn't have to pay extra for S&H.

Please help.

Thank you!

By OZ do you mean the stock OZ lancer rim? That would not be possible as the OZ and Ralliarts have completely different bolt patterns.

Here's a link to the photo of my ACTUAL car.

Please shed some light on this for me.

Thank you!

That's not a stock OZ wheel. Nevertheless, you should still be suspicious considering that one of the wheels is not like the others.

Dammit. This car is worrying me now. Do you guys think it's fine to still go through with the sale? I was thinking somewhere down the road, I'll be buying a new set of rims for this car. The body looks amazing though, right? What should I do?

Take the car to a non-affiliated mechanic for inspection. The majority of these cars have been beaten and modded to death. That said, you should be more concerned about what isn't visible (under the hood, clutch, etc.), IMO.

That's what I was planning to do right after I pick it up from the dealer. Should I still buy the car? I think it's worth fixing up this 2004 RA. I loved this car from the first time I saw it. I know it'll be my main squeeze for years to come

Also, I'm planning on purchasing a cheap, used 04/05 OZ/RA for parts.

I'm excited to start working on this car!

Any suggestions?

it's not a mitsubishi wheel because it has a universal bolt pattern...i would ask them for a matching set or no deal...it looks like ****...

if all 4 were like the different one, it would look nice...i think it looks better than the stockers, but there's only one...maybe it was in a collision, or they smoked a pot hole and destroyed that wheel...there could be other problems, but definately try to find out why that wheel is different...

Aw man. I already put a deposit in for the car and it's ready for pick up today I asked him about it already and he said they got it in the dealership like that already. So I don't know what else to say. Maybe I can ask him for the CarProof records of that particular incident. What would you do? Would you still buy the car?

So I Googled "10-spoke wheel" and tell me if I'm right. The 04 RA wheel is 10-spoke because there are 10 rods coming from the centre of the wheel, right?

LOL

You should take the car to an outside mechanic prior to purchasing. If the dealership has a problem with that, you should not buy the car.

This is why you should get it checked out prior to purchase. There has got to be a reason why that wheel is not a stock wheel and there could be other problems.

You should have asked for that prior to putting a deposit down. I would not buy the car. You should get your deposit back, ask for the CarFax or whatever you call it up there, take the car to a mechanic, and go from there. That car could have some major problems.

He told me that the car has already been serviced and everything is in good condition now. I have the report from the mechanic that fixed it. He replaced a lot of things including all the control arms, brake pads, callipers, wiring, tune up, etc. I also have a 3-year Powertrain Silver Plus warranty on it which includes any engine, transmission, head gasket problems and more.

I'm getting really worried because of the response that I'm getting. You guys are experts when it comes to these things so I'm starting to think that I shouldn't buy the car now
