Weird jerking while driving...

Okay well I was coasting going 45 in 5th gear, and then my car started jerking as if I was on then off the accelerator repeatedly. Then I took my foot off then back n and it went away. It has done this maybe four times recently, but the last one was too notcieable to pass up. What could it be, also I know I need to re-do valve lash but idk I was looking to see if there is something else I should check, just in case.

EDIT: http://www.buzzle.com/articles/sympt...on-sensor.html

I'll base off of this article, should I be okay with that?

It could be the throttle position sensor or the throttle cable could be needing lubrication.

I know I have a new throttle cable installed, but I'm a noob so must ask this. How do I go about checking if the throttle position sensor is working properly and I'll figure it the lubrication lol

Where the cable connects to the throttle body, lube or grease there. Anyone correct me if I'm wrong. But I believe that's it, google probably has the answer lol

Clean the contacts in the connectors ,meter the wires, check for continuity, and then for a short to the ground.

I saw the thread before anyone had replied and the temptation was tremendous, but I was trying to play nicely with others for a change.

I had these same symptoms. Ended up cleaning the pins on the TPS and everything is fine now. Also put Diametric grease in the connector.

Its a potentiometer with a 12v signal not 5 volt like most senors. It should change from near 0 at idle and to near 12 at wot
