Quick question, sort of ...Is anyone running a UDP with a mini battery kit?

I was interested in doing an intake upgrade similar to RalliartN, but I don't want to lose power by having a UDP and mini battery. Any input?

I know Otter ran a mini battery along with udp on his Ralliart. I don't think he had any problems. His only problem was I don't think the mini battery survived the rough winters.

that, and you would not want to run a power hungry sound system...

I have the UDP too. I don't know what you mean by losing power. I can have the air-con on, the lights on high, and the stock sound system cranked - the car operates normally with the mini-battery. The only thing different is, when turning the key to start, the engine doesn't snap to life immediately, it cranks an extra half-second or so then fires up. You might not notice it, I am very picky; not an issue.

A little off topic but does anyone know what the differences are between the UDP on ebay and the UDP that RRM offers?

Is one better than the other or is there not really a difference? If I get a better setup with the ebay one and the gatorback belt then I will go that way. But if the RRM one is better I guess the extra $10 would be worth it.

Just curious.

I don't really see a difference , rrm's pulley was the same price of the eBay pulley when it first came out :/ I hav te rrm pulley but if I was buying it again it would be the eBay one. I can't see myself paying double or the same thing.

Well it doesnt look like the ebay one comes with a belt and by the time shipping for both comes out they'll be around the same price (give or take a few bucks) so I was just wanting to be sure that one wasnt better quality or something.

Thanks Lanzer

bakuro..i found the 725K6 belt at vbeltsupply.com. If that's the correct belt, its only $11.91, not sure how much shipping to you would be though.

That's the belt (725K6 or equivalent) I've been using with my UDP since I put it on almost 100000 miles ago.

Awesome that this pulley is still a popular mod. I am sorry for your trouble with getting it off. It sounds like you found some very creative way to get it off.

I can tell you that cost of CNC and material has more than doubled since 2005. This alone should help justify the price. Also the pulley is made in the US last time I checked so please keep that in mind.

If I dont have a torque wrench, can I just tighten the bolts as much as I could but not to the point that I will go crazy tight with em?! LOL!!!
