Eclipse clutch on ralliart? Or other cars on ra

Basically I was wondering if the clutches would swap out, the eclipse (06 and on) are clutches are 230mm instead of the 228mm the ralliart has but will this 2mm throw everything off? I searched and all I found was this thread

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/04...-ralliart.html

He said he had rubbing but didn't specify if it was actually the eclipse clutch he got and not a faulty ra one.

Why I bring this up is I'm looking to replace my clutch soon (146M today) not sure if its original but its got quite a few miles on it. The ones I saw on rrm were 400 for the stage 1 which i thinks a tad pricy.

So is there any other car model clutches thatll fit? For me to find a cheaper one.

ps I searched first
pss first post *puts sunglasses on face like a boss*
psss I have an 04 ra

is an eclipse clutch any cheaper? i don't get it...

oh, and just out of curiousity, i went the ACT's website, and compared part numbers, they are the same...too easy

it's true that the exedy clutches have different part numbers, but ACT uses the same pressure plate and disc for both...

I wasn't worried about part numbers it was the diameters being different.
And yes I saw a few of them for cheaper thats why I was wondering. Tryin to save a buck where I can.

you misunderstood, exedy/daiken clutches are 2mm difference, AND different part numbers, but ACT uses the exact same size and part number for both...anything that is any smidge different will have a different part number obviously, but ACT must use a happy medium that works for both to cut production cost while covering two different platforms with the same product, well played, but exedy is OEM, so they will be OEM spec, but i would bet money that the eclipse clutch would work fine, and a 2mm larger diameter won't make a difference as long as it bolts up, which it should unless ACT pressure plates have a dual bolt pattern, and of course if the clutch fit on the flywheel. if the pressure plate was taller, then you could encounter some rubbing, but otherwise it should work. 2mm bigger means it will be only 1mm larger radius, that's not a whole lot i would say there's room, or you wouldn't need an alignment tool to keep the damn thing centered during install...but then again i don't know from experience, only through reasonable assumption, so if you find a cheaper retail clutch for an eclipse let me know i'll be due for a change soon...

Check out the Clutchmaster Stage 2 Clutch. The part number is 05-045-HDKV. I installed this on my car with the Fidanza Flywheel. They go great together It shifts so much better than the stock clutch.

Damn Crans you already went through that stage one, probably should replace the rubber on the pedal too lol.

Really? That's the set up I was looking at a while ago. How's the chatter? Bite? And how much hp are you pushing? Sorry for so many questions.

The setup runs great, I swapped my clutch out around 72000 miles or so and have put 24,000 miles on it since. I can't recall ever hearing any clutch chatter. It has a very quick engagement for me and it took me an hour or so to get used to it. I'd say I'm pushing around 210 hp. I've never gone to the dyno but I've done quite a bit of work to her

a little over 50,000km total, and 2 seasons at the track, one NA and tuned, the other boosted...and i'll admit i do drive her a bit harder in the back country...but i'm a good boy in city limits. and at the track she really gets abused... It still engages hard, and it's not slipping, but i would like to have a clutch kit on the shelf just in case...i always have a few oil filters and at least one change worth of oil in the garage at all times, and a few spare parts, or parts i know are on their way out...now with my setup i even have a spare turbo

What do you have done? 210hp is roughly what i get at 8psi...mind you it's rather small turbo for the engine, it's still boost.

I plan on having it dynoed around March of next year. There's a shop that has a dyno day where they charge $60 for 2 runs with printouts.
