HAHA...the weirdest/funniest thing i've ever heard a canadian say is "it's in inch mode?"

when i went for some training last year in toronto for work...
i was in electrical diagnositics class, and the seats on this car were moving in what jaguar calls "small increments"...(if there's a fault/issue in the door modules the seat for that side will move only in small ammounts of ~1in...)
we were diagnosing the car and the instructor is like "ok...tell me what's wrong with the car"(me and the instructor are the only non-canadians in the room of 15 people, there was an scottish guy too tho, technically he's not canadian...but he's lived in canada for like 15 yrs so technically he is)
and one guy was like "uhh...the seat it's in inch mode?"(among other issues other poeple mentioned)...and the instructor was like ok...then we both kinda stopped, thought about it and were like "WTF?....a canadian talking in inches!?"..
threw us both off so bad...we both were so stunned we were nervously laughing for like an hour...not very funny or amazing but after 2 days of hearing everything in cm or meters in the brittish training books, temps in celsius etc...we got so confused hearing about "inch mode" from a canadian...

then later the class had a contest about how funny we can make "inch mode"...and we spent about 45 mins making "inch mode" jokes, because we finished training early but weren't allowed to leave early...so we had to kill time somehow

this is WikiAnswers' answer to your question:

"People who want to use constants that don't contain units for temperature in an equation."

and more history on the Kelvin which was developed by LORD KELVIN...

"Lord Kelvin invented the Kelvin Scale in 1848 used on thermometers. The Kelvin Scale measures the ultimate extremes of hot and cold. Kelvin developed the idea of absolute temperature, what is called the "Second Law of Thermodynamics", and developed the dynamical theory of heat. In the 19th century, scientists were researching what was the lowest temperature possible. The Kelvin scale uses the same units as the Celcius scale, but it starts at ABSOLUTE ZERO, the temperature at which everything including air freezes solid. Absolute zero is O K, which is - 273°C degrees Celsius."

read more here: http://inventors.about.com/od/kstart...ord_Kelvin.htm

just thought i would share a few fun facts

i dont know if you saw it...but on bakuro's thread about the hoodlatch i put it up...i've saved up some $ and looking for saomething to mod...(kinda like on the RA not too much to mod available for my engine....but theres a few things i can do...)...i tossed the idea this weekend to my wife to do an exhaust and she's like..."well...i hope you don't use OUR BABY's $"....and im like......then i remembered i have a wad o cash ive saved....SOOO...
i might pull a cranswick and slap a custom cherry bomb exhaust on it...
theese cars have 2 mufflers AND a resonator(wich i deleted already but sounds the same as OE...)...hence the no noise...
but sometime this summer for sure im doimng something...and intake and/or exhaust are my top prioritiesrt now TBH...(then maybe i can hear it and shift....lol)

so anyway she was like "where'd u get this $..?" and im like.."here...there....etc...u know"...so now she's all worried im destrying her baby, but she reluctantly agreed i can do it(since it was her car originally)...and she's worried about me blowing it up even tho she knows even tho i beat on it and mod it, i do/will take better care of it than she ever would)...
ive owned it for ~2 moths now....and i've already waxed it 2wice....and wash/vac'd it like every week or 2...while she owned it like 4 yrs and not 1nce waxed it or vac'd it or even washed it...

LMFAO at your "wad of monayyy" hahaha!
it's amazing how in the end your wife agrees to you either way.
i wish life was THAT easy. i go to my girl and be like "hey, can i MIVEC when we get on the highway? can i? CAN I?!?" she goes "go ahead...we will die..." i'm like "never mind...*goes 80km/h and puts on CRUISE*"
one day, when she falls asleep in the car, i will MIVEC until she WAKES UP and i'll be like "TA-DA!!! *mivec*"
let's see what she says and i will give you guys an update...
*to be continued...*

PS: you should go cranswick and slap that cherry bomb turbo on. trust me bro it sounds amazing haha. it sounds like your car will eat any other car around it lmfaooo! seriously.

cherry bomb turbo is sweet, not ricey, sounds awesome...and cheap

for the love of god don't put a glasspack on it...so many people associate cherry bomb with the "red pipe"...but they actually make real mufflers and really nice tips as well...

well..i AM a mechanic for a living...
so she knows ill do my best to keep it on the road and looking nice(kuzz im ocd sometimes) untill it's not financially/situationally sane for us to do it...
like i said...for 4 years she drove it....and that's it...the best she ever did was put gas in it...
i however...have done every oil change(xept the first 3 - free from vw and 1 brake flush at the 3rd one included free also), changed the air and a/c filters, changed tires, brakes, ut new spark plugs in it(vw req's them every 40kmi), aligned it, installed new wheels etc...(aka maintained and repaired it as needed)...so she knows i'll keep it alive til i total it...lol

ps dont be makin fun of my "wad o' cash".....
u just wish u had one....lol

oh i know what they make...
when i go remove the other 2 mufflers it MAY be too loud....
so my plan is do a glasspack for a resonator...and then the turbo futher back there the last muffler was...(the 1st muffler is all weird placed...it'd have to be a offset in/center out w/ a right angle coming in and ~45* out....im sure that's not the best for flow...but the 2nd one is basically straight thru...so i'd rather do that for simplicity's sake...)

i know the glasspack won't do much...but im sure it'll bring it down enough to where it's not super loud and farty, but nice sound level and great deep growl

Is your "wad" measured in inches?

Sorry, couldn't help it.

btw, in Canada we use Standard units (inches) in aerospace and construction, and we use metric for everything else.
