I still drive mine though I sold it to my parents and just recently wrecked my mkV jetta TDI. It's a great DD but there are much better platforms for any area whether it be performance, reliability, gas mileage etc. The only money I would put into it would be maintenance.

it won't be right away tho....
and if i do buy another RA...i'll still be low on funds...and high on dreams...lol
i'll have to figure out a way to make money selling the less than 1yr old mazda(not loose a ton) and buy an RA for ~$3k or less...(hopefully w/ less than 86kmi like my old one did when i bought it...)

I miss this community! I couldn't find a sportback...so I ended up getting a 2002 protege5, amazing handling and I pieced together a turbo kit. Its running great but the forums for the P5 are horrible but its just as rare as the ralliart. On the forums no one likes to help each other. I know eventually I'll try to get into a ralliart again but turbo it piecing a kit together like I did with this P5. The big thing I miss from the ralliart is the interior of the ralliart. It is a lot better then this P5 and the seats held me in better.

when i bought my RA, i already had my 03 Lancer, i was going to buy a 2003 mazdaspeed protege, but i too, liked the interior of the RA better. Plus i had already researched the ECU tuning hackish was working on for the RA and decided i would eventually turbo the RA...i had it all planned out all along

Haha yeah, the sedan protege doesn't handle aswell as the P5. I almost bought one after I sold the TDI. Funny thing is I'm using the MSP ecu. I want to eventually contact hackish once I get the money, install an electronic boost controller, new clutch and see if he can get a great tune at 10psi. I'm also thinking I might get some ralliart seats, and fabricate the rails to put them in my protege5. I do think the looks on the P5 is better than the sportback though.

I'm still here! I lurk daily. I found headers, and a camshaft, on RPW. Expensive, but fairly decent. Anyone know anything cheaper? Or maybe something that works better?
