2005 Ralliart A/C won't turn off

I bought an '05 Ralliart yesterday, and I didn't notice at first but I can't turn my A/C off. If I push the button, nothing happens and the light stays on. Has anyone had experience with a problem like this before?

Yep, when I turn it off I do hear a fan. I hope it's not an expensive repair..?

I new to Lancers but I've own Mitsubishis for over a decade. I believe you could do it yourself. Module unplugs and unscrews.

Good news indeed. Should I be worried about driving it? It'll be a while before I get the part.

The only thing I would worry about is killing the battery or sexing the clutch on your compressor pulley. But if you drive it every day the seizing probably won't happen. But if the fans are going with the engine off you're using battery power not alternator power. Hence draining the battery.

For the fans staying on after you turn the car off, that's the radiator fan control module that is on it's way out. Super easy to install and you really only need a wrench or a screwdriver (i forgot which). For the AC light though idk how to help you for that one.

you can order the fan control module at your local mitsu dealer. i can't remember how much they are but iirc they're ~$150 or so. search the forum. lots of threads about replacing this part as a lot of us RA owners have had this problem. cheers!

PS: congrats on your new Ralliart! welcome brother!

iirce (since my AC doesn't even work, so i never use it) if your temperature control knob is turned all the way to AC, the AC light will stay on no matter what...

for the fan controller, the part number should be in the OEM part # sticky in the general section compliments of Raikiri...i know the price went up, but i paid around $70 for mine...search around you should be able to find it for less than $120, unless the prices really jumped...
