Welcome to the forums!

Glad to see your interesting in starting to work on your car. Lets clear something up off the bat though cause it can cause you a lot of headache down the road if you dont know the difference. The picture of the car you provided is a Ralliart, not an OZ Rally. Those are two different model cars. The OZ Rally has 4 lugs on the wheels instead of 5, also it has different wheels. It does not have the same lip kit as the Ralliart. And the biggest difference is in the engine. The OZ Rally has a 2.0l engine while the Ralliart has the 2.4l 4g69 engine. Just wanted to clear up that difference because if you order parts for an OZ from autozone they will very likely not work on a Ralliart.

Now there have been several of these "point me in the right direction" threads. And I feel like those of us who have been around for a while now all agree that making sure your car is caught up on all of its maintenance is the FIRST step you should take. If the foundation isnt there then your whole build will be shaky. So based on the mileage you should do some research on what scheduled maintenance has or needs to be done.

Does your oil need changed? How about your Oil filter?
Has your tranny fluid every been changed?
Has it ever had the timing belt and water pump replaced?
Have your spark plugs been changed?
Do your brakes/rotors need changed?
Is your check engine light on?

Get an idea on how healthy your car is before you start modifying it. You'll wish you did if something ever falls apart on you!

Welcome again!
Always glad to see new faces.

Thanks for the info i must have been miss informed. but i have gone through and done the maintenance such as oil, fuel, and air filter and also brakes ect. i currently do not have my license until January and just wanted to know where i should start. considering i have a small exhaust leak i may start there but until i get the money it will have to wait. but what would be the cheapest mod to get the ball rolling? I do have mechanical knowledge as work in a garage but i am new to modifying ect

timing belt...sickest mod there is, and adds 35whp

seriously though, ECU tuning, tires and suspension is the best place to start

where is your exhaust leak?

LMAO! So true... ...seriously.

Seriously though. You cant go wrong with suspension mods on these cars. They really bring the car to life and show off its true potential.
