the parking brake on my 06 Lancer RA has had it's fair share of handbrake turns thanks to previous owners (mind you I would have done this myself at some point) and i noticed that there is a lot of slack in the cable, is there any way to tighten it sufficiently? the car is currently on blocks so the brakes are accessible right now.

There is an adjuster behind the hub in the circled area. Turn it by couple of turns and you'll see the shoes move apart, that makes the cable tighter.

Make sure you tighten the slack evenly between the two rear wheels.

thank you, i was having issues trying to figure out where to tighten it as there is a small adjustment I could make at the parking brake lever itself but that didn't make much of a difference.
