I did this to my car and it looks VERY nice. On my first trip out with the mesh an explorer kicked up a hunk of shredded semi tire and knocked it out, ruining it... I pulled it out and redid the grill insert, no biggie right?? And guess what? The same damn thing happened on the way to work on monday to the OTHER side.

I feel like I am cursed....

Well, there's only one way around your problem... lend me your custom grills and I'll take care of them for you (just so they don't get damaged or anything, of course)...

Where do you guys buy the grille material? i've tried home depot, autozone and so forth, mind you i live in some suburban town somewhat Boston and i have little luck with autoshops around here. I was thinking about trying a autoshop asking if they might have some. Any suggestions?

that spot puddy was very weak, in my experience it broke apart with just moderate pressure on it, i sugess using bondo BODY FILLER only use a little hardner, anyway i did it with that and the spot buddy, and the body filler came out way better, easier to manipulate and 10 times stronger, the original person who did this i am VERY impressed as i am pretty good at doing body work this was very hard for me to get it right and in fact it is not as good as i would like however im on the second try and dont want to touch it ever again, good luck to all who atempt it is not hard it is not easy yet time consuming take your time if your hyper like me you will mess it up in a heart beat

The only part im having trouble with is sanding down those V's where the original grill thing was.. And now that I got those sanded down, I keep painting them and it turns out gray in most areas..Maybe im going to fast, and should let them sit for alittle so the paint settles alittle more..
