what cars can the ralliart beat

what cars can you beat with the ralliart. i test drove the ralliart and it felt kind of fast but can it beat cars like the celica, ser sentra and civics si. if it cant i am still going to buy the ralliart, because i like the style and the mivec engine.

Please pay closer attention to the forum where you create your threads. The Evo general forum is not the appropriate place for Lancer Ralliart threads.

Moving this to the correct forum.

Also be aware that threads which contain street racing themes are not welcome on any Evolutionm.net forum. So if this threads starts sounding like a street racing thread, it will be deleted.

Ok. To stay within EVOM policies...If your talking about a "all things considered equal (i.e driver, conditions, tires) 1/4 mile race on a SANCTIONED RACE TRACK then the RA can take down a base RSX, turbo GTi, Celica GT (MAYBE a GT-S) and a bunch of others. Not to mention civic's and other such cars.

That gives you an idea for a stock for stock comparision. There are plenty other cars too.

If you want straight line exceleration then the Ralliart is great. The nissan ser spec-v if faster but not as refined (and I think its ugly). The other cars you mentioned are slower then the Ralliart in the 1/4 but are faster around the turns. You can make up for this with better tires and some suspension mods. And I almost forgot to mention the civic si really sucks all around next to the ralliart.

in some magazines that i read say that the ralliart can hit 14.9-15.8 . is this because of the drivers or some typeo on the 14.9 and low-15. because i can see the ralliart doing mid to high fifteens.

expect mid 15's at sea level. With a few mods from road race motorsports you can take off about a second even with stock tires.

Civic Type R (200hp) > Lancer RA (160hp)

Eventhough I hate civics, i cant say no to the type R's. They are fabulous. What RA lacks compare to the Civic Type R is the looks of the interior (civic looks a bit more cyborg for me).

of course the type R will beat the RA. It's essentially the type-S RSX in a different body. Too bad you can't get a type R in the states..

The RA can beat the Mazda 3 and the Toyota Corolla XRS (C & D got a 7.1 to 60 mph in the XRS!!! Sounds awfuly fast for a 1.8L but the Lancer RA beats it in the 1/4 mile and top speed according to C&D) The Nissan Sentra Spec V would be a close call.

Fords Focus has a new ST model on the 4 door. It used the Mazda 2.3L but only 150hp---it would wipe the floor with this.

When the Coblat comes out with the 2.4L VVT engine, it might be faster. (170+hp) I am gonna look at this too--a 2 door coupe is appealing to me. I wish the RA has a 2 door.....anyhow

You should be pretty close to most ferrari's too. I was racing an Enzo on the local drag strip. He ran a 14.2 and I ran a 14.5. It was pretty close. All kidding aside, the RA is not a FAST car...it won't be a fast car unless you drop some serious money into it (i.e. turbo) in which case you should probably just get a car that is faster to begin with. But that is just my opinion. I bought my ralliart to get decent gas mileage while still having a relatively quick car. But that is just me.

No, not just a turbo, but if you also put in larger injectors to dump in more fuel to go with more air, then your mileage will suffer when you get on it.

Stock, I used to get ~25mpg in my old Eclipse. With a larger turbo and 22% larger injectors, I was getting 22-23mpg.
