What mods will void the warranty?
Hi, i actually just bought a Black 2011 Lancer, I love the exterior haha its so bad. But the interior is a whole different story ... I was wondering if changing the headlights to some customized lights would void the warranty? Also i was thinking of changing the A/C buttons .... they look like they are made of paper.
You should be fine with headlights and things like that. You could wlways swap back to stock if you have to to to dealer. It's once you start modding engine wise where it gets tricky
Mitsubishi is the Gestapo when it comes to warranties. They will void your warranty on the spot if you are found to have entered a competitive event like an SCCA autocross. They are the complete opposite of Subaru. I got a free year of SCCA membership when I bought my '04 STi.
I asked my dealer if I used the Redline cocktail would that void the warranty and they said, "If cooperate finds out, they will void the Transmission and possibly the entire warranty." So, now, I'm completely paranoid of any mods. It would be helpful if there was a line in the sand that we could use. For example, exhaust shouldn't void the engine warranty, or, an aluminum drive shaft should not void the differentials.

I asked my dealer, and they said not to worry about anything. Of course at the time i just asked about slapping on a Greddy SE and bolt-ons...they don't even say anything when i come in for my oil change. It doesn't hurt to ask your dealer
