Hello all. I have a question here. I was rear ended monday. The guy had insurance.
Damage to truck, frame area behind bumper, bumper and so on.
Got my car to the collision shop yesterday after getting a call back from the state farm claim rep. I asked the gentleman at the shop if it was possible to replace the rear bumper cover with a RA one instead of the base cover. He said it would be OoP and I was fine with this after researching th price of both covers at a couple of vendors. Missed the call earlier but the guy stated it would be $400+ out of my pocket to get said bumper cover. Now i know the exhaust is different but I have a custom exhaust with the muffler before the axleback, so i figuered that wouldnt have been too much of an issue.This doesn't add up to me. It may just be me being uneducated.
I will be calling the shop in the morning to ask why.
Can some one explain a legitimate reason behind the price hike for me?
