Manual in the works

According to Edmunds via Mitsubishi. Manual 5 or 6 speed in the works but "expected" cost the same as the SST model.

Why would it cost just as much? All they need to do is get the 5 speed from the GSR and put it in the RA. As far as I know the transmission tunnels in the GTS, RA, X MR, X GSR are the same.

Hopefullly, they'll do some fiddling with the ratio's if its from the GSR... it works well to keep the car in the meat of the torque band, but damn would it get killed by highway mileage (which might be more of a concern with the tamer RA).

Note I put in quotation marks "expected"...they claim it's due to software and hardware changes. I say they are saying that so they don't lose SST sales. Anyways, I do hope that Edmund's sources are accurate.

Well I was considering buying this car, and talked myself into wanting the sst, but if they are coming out w/ a "true" manual I'll wait, maybe save more $ for a better down payment. So I understand them not saying they were working on a manual initially to not hurt sst sales, I just don't know why the let the cat out of the bag now, because now I'll wait.

That would be "Mitsubishi via Edmunds" as in Mitsubishi by way of Edmunds. Just doing my bit to avoid syntactic chaos.

That's not a good enough reason.

That's great news!

However, doesn't make sense that it would cost the same as the SST......

We're gonna have to wait and see what the final product is.

Who knows? So much can change from now until the official US release.
