A Lancer that doesn't suck
Title was quoted from September's issue of Super Street. They have an article about the new Ralliart on there. Not exactly a review per se, but one of their "first drive" articles. The verdict ended up being "impressed." They said that it was definitely not an Evo and to just step up for the Evo expereince. Bolting on Evo X parts was also mentioned to just be a waste of money. Instead, the Ralliart was a "stepped up GTS" (quotes not exact I've left the mag at home)
They were happy with the shifting and the prospect of power came from the parts that ARE Evo-similar, specially the transmission. In lasts months article an Evo X trany was tested with increased power and it held on pretty good so they sorta expect the Ralliart trany to take the same kind of tuning. Because of this they are seriously thinking that the Ralliart could become a good tuner car since it is priced right below the Evo and has a different competition.
No mention of price other than expect it "right below 30K." There was a photoshoot of I wanna say some new pics but all of the same orange Ralliart we've all seen. The article's tagline was essentially Mitsubishi finally putting out a Lancer that doesnt suck. Definately a worthy read, so go check it.
I'll post more details when I grab the mag back at home again.
This is starting to look good!

I appreciate your insight, but I don't think it has anything to do with what I'm trying to express! The car is getting publicity and a lot of reviewer (regardless of skill) are giving it thumbs up! That's what matters! You may not like it but there are people that are interested in the magazines and what their editors have to say. They got one thing going for them: They've stay popular, and that stands for something. Not defending the company, I'm defending the Ralliart's publicity
Won't scanning it be some sort of copyright scam thingy? Doesn't that even violate board rules? If not I can scan it later. I like the fact that almost everyone that looks at the car likes it (reviewers that is) It means more popularity which can increase aftermarket support, though it has its negatives too... double edge.
I do agree that people coming into the Rally with a "little evo" attitude will be disappointed. Those looking for a good car on its own are the ones that will enjoy it. Thanks for the linkie 16vTAWD

Do not scan and post magazine articles. Just find it online and link to it.

[not that the scan linked to above wasn't nice for those of us who can't get the magazine locally]
Point taken, if you don't want to cause problems for the forum, don't scan and post.
lancer is no where near the evo x. then again mitsu is notorious makin the same chasis, body with different engine transplant for certain models. now the new lancer and the ten....to me the only difference is well everything...but its so wrong to think of it that way. mitsu gets a big thumbs down. wasting their money, wasting your time. with that money i'd rather get a real evo or put money down for one. AT LEAST ITS ABOUT TIME THEY BRING BACK "LANCER GSR'S" WELL SORTA.
