Sleeper?...

So just the other day I was sitting around looking at the RA's statistics and some pics and it hit me... If you bought a RA and traded out your bumpers and hood w/ a GTS owner.... You'll have one hell of a sleeper

An AWD turbo lancer look a like FTW!

I'd buy one if mitsu would actually make a damn six speed for these bad boys.

Interesting concept, but I'm not sure it's a great idea to try...for starters, that hood is vented for more than just looks.

It is interesting, but i was thinking to myself long ago that someone should have just got a evo and swapped out the front and rear to make it look like a base lancer. That would be def. a nice sleeper. Your idea is better than mine and could work out a lot easier.

The massive trunk wing that the Ralliart has should be removed too.

On a side note, this thing blocks like 1/3rd of the review view when looking through the mirror. It's kind of a pain IMO. The only benefit is that it pretty much always blocks the light glare of the car behind me in the night time.

+1. But now faster cars have a tendency to sneak up on me at night too.

Ya, you'd want to strip all the R/A badges and just keep it looking like a stock GTS with the wing, lancer badge, single exhaust, etc. etc. but if you put a elec fan on your hood you can keep it vented... or go with a FMIC w/ oil cooler in front of it... IMO the lancers have awesome wide air guzzling mouth space so why not use it as much as possible. The hoods are sick (getting one for my gts) but if you want a sleeper more than show I say go with the base hood and get creative

Best part is this is actually very do-able. the evo's have that rear wide body so you can't sleeper them but the new R/A's are perfect! And not meaning to sound ridiculous but thinking about it aren't R/A's just GTS's w/ Turbo and AWD? So hypothetically the Base lancers should have a good enough set up for the R/A's rear drive train right? Cuz if I've actually done my homework right the R/A's use the same body and frame as the base lancers... Idk, just a thought I had.

I love my

I wouldn't call it a sleeper either way.... the GTS looks much faster than it is already so IMO it would look proper. I had everyone and their sister trying to race me in the GTS, never bothered though. I actually do prefer the GTS front lip over the ralliart, looks more aggressive to me. But GTS or Ralliart trims scream attention, a true sleeper would be to have all emblems removed, spoilers removed, and to run 17s

That glare-blocking is actually a great benefit -- there are a lot of annoying people in SUV's and pickup trucks around here who think it's fun to tailgate cars -- now I can just ignore them, without having to squint. Your mind should adjust over time to factor in the spoiler, just like it would any other sort of blind-spot block.

Also, I don't think that the spoiler is overdone at all -- it really fits the slightly stocky look of the Ralliart.

A sleeper is a Dodge Omni turbo..

I wouldn't take something mean looking like an R/A or Evo, and turn it into something boring. After all, you're going to be the one who looks at it the most.

+1. I was gonna add that one too. I think there was a dude on here with a yellow 2003 OZ Rally who did that and it was nice. No body kit or anything, looked completely stock. But yea this idea would be cool especially if u drive it in "auto" mode and ppl pay attention to it and thinks it just an automatic Lancer. They will get one hell of a surprise.

You would be dumb to pay the big price and change the RA to a GTS look alike
