Debadge the Ralliart paint the fmic and get GTS badges. Just tell people that you got the EVO X style hood and your ready to race. Throw a few stickers at it and you got a car no one will take seriously.

An AWD turbo lancer look a like FTW!

I'd buy one if mitsu would actually make a damn six speed for these bad boys.
what is the sleeper means to you?

For me the meaning of sleeper is a following:

Any production car , which have an unexpected performance is a sleeper.
the opposite:
Any car which have unexpectedly less performance is a rice

what i mean really is :
If you have a Lancer with stock exterior or simple modification on it, but 400 whp, that is a sleeper.
If you have a Lancer with extensive exterior modification on it, and 400 whp , is not a sleeper.
If you have a Lancer with extensive exterior modification it and stock engine, they call it rice.

So degrading a car is not making a car sleeper.
This my opinion about the sleeper status.

^agreed, but I'm not saying leave the engine stock... that would be stupid. I'm saying take the car and make it look like a base lancer. If you modded a RA for 350+ awhp and made it look like a stock lancer than you got a nice sleeper, IMO.

I also agree the lancer looks alot faster than it really is, but the 4b's have huge potential! as long as we got companies out there looking to go all the way to tune it and supply forged internals to fully build it.

I like the idea of a sleeper look, and my bimmer has that look.
My other lancer gts on the contrary looks so damn racy, but has no power haha!

If the SST can take that kind of power. Dyno results show problems after about 25 hp and 25 ft/lbs at the wheels. Tranny shuts it down.

Yeah i like my look. Doesn't look or sound turbo. People think the FMIC is just a radiator?? C'mon. People that know the base lancers (4g94) are slow are gonna think they're slow either way. The new GTS some people have no idea.

In my mind, to make a Ralliart a true sleeper, you would have to make it look like a base Lancer DE. To top it off, you would probably want the color silver or gray and not red or orange.

Example (not a DE, but close enough):
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Fi..._Lancer_ES.jpg

Now if someone made a Ralliart look like that photo above, I'd call it a sleeper. Although, personally I would not bother doing it.

I don't see how making it look like a GTS would work. It looks too sporty to fool whoever you are trying to fake out... I'd say in general, not many people would have enough knowledge to know that a GTS would be "slow" by looking at it.

IMO for a true sleeper, you buy the base and then soup it up. Not buy the souped up version and dress it down. IE base car with engine transplant to something extreme that no one knows is in there.

thats why I went with the 5-speed =/
Auto trannies arent for racing, never have been. It may shift fast but it gets glitchy and auto trans have always been weaker. I am pissed they didnt give the evo x's a 6-spd m/t option.

ya, I guess your right since the RA's don't even have a 5-spd option.

That would be pricey $$$$. The RA comes AWD/Turbo and that's the biggest reason to dress it down to a base lancer. Although I am curious if the rear drive train from the RA can fit on the base lancers. and there would be no point to plant any other engine into that engine bay... let's say you go with a k20, you'd be looking at a 10-15k modification for 20 extra hp. There is no sense to do a power swap on a 08+ lancer unless it was a 4b11t/awd (if possible) or 4b12 swap (otherwise there is way to many modifications needed to make it work). And the 4b12 is already one of the best FF blocks out there (2.4l i4 Mivec w/ 170hp N/A).

If the 4b11 on the 08's can be turbo'd by and reach 280hp. Than if a company produces internals you can turbo a 4b11 ff to reach 280 easy. And if you have a 4b12 you should be able to reach 300hp w/ only the internals and turbo if not more.

just saying it would be cheaper to buy the RA and dress it down. 27,000 for the RA and trade bumpers and hood with a GTS owner and than take the wing and RA rear badge off and slap a single exhaust on.

sleepers are fun but it's also nice to have a fast looking car that goes fast

or in my case a fast looker but a creeper
