You guys think in the the later you shift has an affect with the longevity of the tranny?

Why bother having 7,000 RPM if you're not gonna use 'em?

Nah, I have never had a tranny that died from using the designed RPM range (and yes I have killed a transmission before). I used to redline my s2000 pretty much ever time I drove it, and it redlined at 9,000 RPM. The killer of transmissions is Torque.

That's not entirely true, torque moment is what kills transmission. You can get a lot of force acting on a transmission in a very short amount of time if you treat it too aggressively. This is why you don't redline shift a car constantly.

The tranny shoudl be able to handle the redline, but not if its excessive, and overdone..Even when you switch it to sportmode, and let the tanny do the shifting, If your at a dead stop and floor it, or downshifted to 1st gear and gun it, it will hit the rev limiter a couple of times them shift..Its nothing new, its what it does..just dont bang it off the rev limiter manually like a idiot all the time and your fine

The tranny should be able to handle hitting the rev limiter (or rather shifting at the rev limiter) but it's not a good thing to do all the time. Every once in a while is fine but like anything, the more you abuse it, the higher the chance of something going wrong.

One thing that i thought with the Ralliart without the S-sport mode, it wasnt capable to constantly hit the rev limiter until you shift, I personally thought that it would shift for you..besides the launch control capability in the MR whats the diff between sport and S-sport?
more responsive?
