Base Flash With Boost Pill Results!

Base Flash With Boost Pill Results!

Hey guys,

So since I live in the bay area the local shop around me is GST Motorsports in Hayward, CA. I took a trip down there earlier today, and got my car dyno'd, flashed and pilled.

So my original stock results:
HP - 201
TQ - 217
Boost - 14.9-18.4

After base flash:
HP - 224
TQ - 231
Boost - 14.7-18.9

After Boost Pill:
HP - 236
TQ - 245
Boost - 14.6-21.2

So from stock to boost pill:
+35 WHP
+28 WTQ
+2.8 PSI Boost

Overall the experience was good, customer service was great. All in all a good day. As of right now no complaints high end gears still have lots of pull. To me drives similar, in the fact that if you aren't watching the speedometer your already creepin' up on 120 mph. Free to answer any questions. I recommend GST Motorsport. Haven't gotten around to scanning the sheets, but that is pretty much the info needed. I can scan them if you need but just might take a while.

Thats great to hear we need more "Right" Coast i mean West Coast love in here finally with a shop!!! good to hear. When they reflashed it where they able to make 5th,6th gear longer to match the MR since i heard when it came to the gearing that was the only difference

That I am unsure, because I didn't do the flash and all, and to be honest I don't know what I am really looking at when I looked at the laptop. Although I asked Bryan, the GST guy, to pull up a stock evo x's dyno, and from what I can tell the results for my RA were higher, in terms of WHP & WTQ. He said "you can creep up on stock X MR's (or maybe it was GSR's) now" haha.

Note to GSTmotorsports: correct me if I'm wrong.

hmm intresting well i had my ralliart tuned by bryan at GST as well exept my ralliart stock was 190 whp and after base flash 230whp/ 240lbs and that is without the boost pill. I wonder how the boost pill will affect my ralliart, i'm going to contact bryan and see

Has anyone attempted tuning their own RA? I have downloaded my stock rom but am waiting on evoscan before I start tinkering. I would be interested to see some custom maps people might be willing to share.

The gearing is a physical element inside the transmission. No amount of tuning will change that.

The MR has a 1.008 5th gear, and 0.775 6th gear, while the Ralliart has a 0.983 5th and 0.731 6th. What this means is that the Ralliart has the longer gears, not the MR. This keeps the Ralliart's highway RPM down and gives you at least a fighting chance at decent fuel economy. The MR has shorter gears because it's intended as more of a no-compromises sports car and the shorter gearing serves that usage.

i thought it was the evo which had the higher gears because the evo is able to have higher top end. my mistake i was wrong thank you for clarifying that for me. i just though taller gears means its able to have a higher speed to the top of the gear before you needed to shift

I thought the numbers would be higher then that with a boost pill.

Do you have the dyno sheet?

Those are good peak increases, but i'm more interested in the gains throughout the curve.

Flash on the dyno, I took it into the shop. Yeah I have the dyno sheets. I'll scan them when I can, my scanner is not cooperating.

Yes you will gain a bunch of power under the curve. This RA baselined higher but gained less. Every car is different but once I post the date later today you will see the gains from the boost pill over the "base flash"

You can only ask so much out of the stock "small" turbo on on the RA when everything else is stock, meaning no flow mods at all, no upgraded FMIC and other cooling, etc. Also this is on 91 California octane. You will see the gains in area under the curve when I post everything later today.
