Theres two different ways to balance wheels, the stock OEM ones don't have the same issue as aftermarket ones, depending on the shop you go to they may have both attachments (whatever you want to call it) Theres one that bolts onto the bolt holes, and balances it that way, and theres another that bolts onto the hub, and balances it that way which is more accurate..try that out

Thanks for your feedback everyone! My winter tires were absolutely fine before I took them off. I will double check the weights on the rims. Someone mentioned warped rotor(s), I thought the symptoms of a warped rotor was a vibration during braking from high speed, I had that problem on my old civic. Funny enough today it is snowing/raining in Toronto and I am driving summer tires to work, I guess I am just being "lucky" for the past couple of weeks.

aestival thank you for listing your setup, people at the shop keep telling me that it is hub rings, I even had the dealer measure the hub bore to confirm. I can see that you are using 67.1 without any problems.

yeah, hub centric rings and balancing are a must for aftermarket wheels. and 65mph (~100km/h) is usually the critical speed that triggers the natural frequency on automotive wheels because most wheels have similar weights. Most shops can balance your wheels for about $60 USD

I agree that this should not be such a complicated task, my only problem is that I have already spent $200 on just installation and balancing all of this. Have any of you guys heard about road-force balancing? Would you recommend it?

First make sure the hubrings ar allowing the wheels to mount flush to the hubs.
Have them swap the front tires/wheels to the back, if that helps it is a tire, hub ring or wheel issue
Have them check lateral and vertical runout on the wheels themselves at the rim
Have them check the tires for being out of round. Have them shaved to true them.
Have them check the tires for tread separation or belt slippage
Install proper metal hub rings of the correct inner /outer diameter and taper fit for the wheels ( Tire Rack or Discount Tire online )

Check the alignment at a good shop
Check for bent or damaged steering rod ends ( did you hit or glance off anything in the snow this winter ? )
Check lateral runout of the rotors off the car.
Clean rotors to remove transfer layers. Recheck lateral runout If warped, have them turned. Deglaze pads and re-install


That covers it pretty much all

Guys thanks a bunch for your feedback! I am happy to announce that the problem has been finally resolved after 2weeks, 2 sets of rims, numerous sizes of hub rings and types of lugnuts. The problem was with the balancing machine. They had sent me to another shop in Brampton to get it checked out, all 4 got rebalanced right in front of me. Took it on the hwy NO VIBRATION. Thanks to Car Kraze Auto and Rims Collection for their help!
