What's up with the super hard shift into second gear on a cold start? Am I hurting my car when it does that? I usually only warm my '09 RA for like 15-30 seconds and off I go...Is that wrong? I feel like every time I shift into second cold, I'm like punching my car in the face or something, any comments?

 

Don't punch it in the face.
My Gmc canyon truck was damn near impossible to shift when the trans was cold even when it was brand new, no clue what it was.

 

You wanna always warm up your car if you ever wanna punch it! If not it could be fatal!

 

It takes the tranny a little longer than 15-30 seconds to warm up...if you must go quickly, take it easy for the first 10-15 minutes; there's much less stress on the tranny that way. Or, if you have the time, let it warm up for 5-10 minutes before you go anywhere.

The SST sucks when cold - I wouldn't say its a punch in the face though, more like a rough backhanded slap at the most.

 

actually it will be normal.... hard shifting for the tc sst when its cold... if you warm up the car for 5 mins b4 driving you wont see too hard of a shift but it will take just a bit longer on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd after about for 30 sec to a minute and then smooth driving.....


JUST DONT PUSH IT WHEN ITS COLD.... OR IT FEEL LIKE ITS GONNA BREAK AND YOU WILL HERE THE GEARS SHIFTING....
