I've read several threads in the X section on the paint chipping issues and some in the RA forum. I just wanted to know, are you guys experiencing these same issues? To the same extent? How many of you went with the 3M kit material and mud flaps?

 

Yup there is chipping on the rear ground effect below the door. You may not see it right away but you can feel it. Ordered Ralli Armour mudflaps to solve that issue. I did not get the 3M taping. Might be an option to consider.

 

in my opinion 3 m is garbage. They only cover 1/3 of the hood, and not even the front bumper. I contacted my dealer for a quote for the whole front bumper and hood aswell as the side squirts. They wanted 950 $. For that price i'll just save up the money and get a new paintjob. First of all the bra only cover 1/3 of the car anyways. And it won't prevent from big rock chips. To me it doesnt make sense. 950$ for something that will last 3 years and covers 1/3...it's not worth it.

 

Mudflaps dont do anything. I got rally armour ones and side skirt infront of the read tire is all chipped up. looks like crap. Truck rear ended me the other day so while the body shop is fixing the damage im gonna get em to fix the rock chips and maybe ask their opinion on the what they think of the paint quality. I really think they should of put a few more layers of clear coat on. like on the inside of where the handle is i have all these small finger nail scratches?? Not from keys but from finger nails. and me being a dude I dont have long finger nails at all. its stupid how easy it is to scratch the paint.

 

there's just not enough clear coat on the car =(
