Hey what's up?

So my wife wants to get an alarm system and auto starter on her RA.

I've never experienced an alarm install or an auto starter with a smart key..

is it possible? cause usually the alarm arms the car when the lock key is pushed.. wouldn't that defeat the purpose of a smart key entry?

got a 2 way autostart. no problem with smart key for lock/unlock. unfortunatly, when i start the car with the remote starter, i need to stop the car by pressing brake pedal before restarting it with the "plastic cap". i cannot just put the switch to "on" because it wouldnt recognize the key

check with your dealer for compatibility. hopefully you have a competent one. Mine is excellent and knows quite well remote starters

Yeah my RA has a remote starter too and I have the same problem as g00mba. I mean I guess it is not a problem, but it's just annoying that I have to shut the car off and turn it on again if I use the remote starter. But the installer said it is the only correct way to work with the smart key. If anyone has any ideas that I could tell the installer to do to fix this, let me know.

 

Mitsu has a remote start kit for the lancers with the cvt and tc-sst... not sure if it fixes the off/on problem, could PM RussellM about it.
