Stock 1/4 Mile ET?
These times mean nothing without slips
(Joking)
What altitude? A 14.7 stock with the heat and humidity and some altitude is not far off the mark. I believe if memory serves me right that Car and Driver have it at a 14.1.
They usually test at or near sea level don't they?

i believe they've stated that they apply a bunch of calculations to their test figures to come up with 0-60 and 1/4 mile times in ideal conditions. so, most of the time, the figures that they publish aren't the "real" times that they recorded in testing.
Track is about 500 feet high. Maybe my expectations were a little high. Getting the SST off the line seems to be the hard part. Hopefully someone will figure out a launch control for us RA guys. Its begging for more RPM before coming out of the hole.
Someone told me that was made that way to save our transmission. So how do the EVO MR guys launch then? Do they have other parts that make their transmission a lot stronger due to the extra horsepower?
Actually the magazines throw the correction numbers out when they test turbocharged cars. What you see is what they got using a radar style gun system, not an actual 1/4 mile timing system.
MR guys have launch control.
To launch A RA you need to HOLD down the brake give it some gas to 3k, then let off brake a floor it. Timing is cruicial tho, you will get the slow down light if you time it wrong. Good luck.

haha lol you can call it very very unofficial, because i didnt track it with a cobb tuner or any on board measuring system. I used a stopwatch lol, but im averaging a 5.4-5.8 after a few runs. The car is stock too, it isnt unusual just take a look at mpgomatics Lancer Ralliart 0-60 video on youtube, its right around there.
Took it out into Sport mode On, ASC on, Automatic, held the brake till about 3000-3100 rpms. Its tough cause the all wheel drive is really pushing the car, but I managed to time it right released at a good time and launched like no tomorrow lol. But if you bog it down then well.....too bad

dont they also test the cars with drag radials for the 1/4 mile and 0-60 times? i know there was a controversy surrounding this before. 14.7 is good. best 60' i've done personally, so far, was 1.823, so get that launch down and you'll be 14.2ish
I haven't done any 1/4 mile runs, but my RA was running 6 second 0-60 runs stock and 6.75 seconds without launching. Now I'm running 5 seconds flat with Cobb Stage 1 while launching and 6 seconds without launching.
