Have you been Evo'ed?
I've had my RA now for exactly 1 year. It's gone through 18000 miles of mostly weekend miles on trips up and out of the city.
I've gotten Evo'ed almost every single weekend by people who think it's an X. Sometimes, it's people asking at a light or a parking lot but most of the time, it's people in various cars high beaming me, waving, thumbs up, etc.
Last saturday, I got a honk and a wave at a light. Then later I saw an older gentleman walking around and checking out the car while I was with my girl in a restaurant. He walked around to the back to check which car it was before he said something to his wife and left. I'm pretty sure he thought it was an Evo X too from the front.
I'm sure some people know or suspect it's a RA. But I'm also sure, esp. in small towns without a lot of mitsu's around, that the majority of them probably mistake it for an X.
Has this happened to any of you guys?

Every time I order food, the delivery driver asks to see what's under the hood of my "Evo". I can't say that it annoys me. Now, what does annoy me is when people go blasting past my car on the freeway (mostly Hondas, some Neons, etc.). It happened more often in my Eclipse, but it is still worrisome in this car. It doesn't impress me, it doesn't prove anything other than my unwillingness to "race", the loud garble makes my ears hurt, and I don't appreciate being put in a bad situation.

One of those times was actually at the dealer... ironically. I didn't know whether to be embarassed or frightened. Had a guy on sat, coming home from upstate, blow by me in his eclipse, pop the bov, cut into my lane, only to slow back down to the speed I was at.
Usually when I tell people it's a ralliart, I either get an immediate uninterested glaze or end up having to explain what exactly the differences are.
Never been wrx'ed, though that is kinda funny.

When people ask what it is I tell them it's a Lancer. When I first got the car some guys at a 7-11 asked me what kind of car it was I told them "It's a Lancer Ralliart".
One guy's eyes got real wide and he said "That's a LANCER?!?!"
I just laughed.
I have gotten the "Is that an Evo?" before, and yes I also got the glazed eye response when I said no, it's a Lancer.
Really, I couldn't care less what other people think about my Lancer, I like it and that's all that matters to me.
I've also gotten the "Is that AWD?" usually followed by "Turbo?". When I say "yep" to both they usuallys ask me if it's fast.
To most people in the know I will refer to the car as an RA or Ralliart.

...even got called a subaru imprezza in the writeup the drag strip did for the local news paper. That's gotta be worse than being evo'd
Thats like the type of question you ask a guy driving around in a sweet older mustang or Vette.
