2010 Ra problems...
I have a 2010 Ralliart with 6500kms and I love it... But,
I've been driving this car for 5 months now and some problems are already showing.... Drivers side wiper is making some crazy noise, Radio not functionning well (skipping from left to right and no balanced sound, especially listening to a cd) Lound shifter noise when tapping brakes in park with car on...
Now I read so much on the tranny not being up to par for long term use... That just freaks me out because when the warranty is gone, I am not going to pay 12 000$ for a tranny.
What do you guys think about long term use for this car?

Bring it to the dealer. If they say it's normal, ask them to show the same things on a brand new car in their car lot. That is why they provide you a warranty
I'm glad we didn't flash it the other day! But anyway, I doubt they would try to deny warrantee work on a wiper because of a flash

Like you, I love the car! But, as far as long term use goes, it's just not practical. Ideally, I want a car that once the warranty goes out, I can really dig in and do some hard core tuning. But with the weakness (and price tag) of the transmission, this is not the car I was looking for. I will deffinitely be looking to trade in once I'm right side up in the payments.

Expect 600 WHP clutch pack to go pretty close to 1K$, the Deep oil pan to be priced at something like 300$. SSP has the monopoly at the moment so they can freely set their price tags.
Just look at how prices for bolt on parts has evolved.
This is the same stuff we dealt with on the GTIs right after they introduced the DSG. A few people jump on here about failures and all the sudden everyone thinks the thing is made of paper. There are still plenty of DSGs going strong well after 100,000 miles.

I called the Dealership and they told me, for the sound that my shifter makes when I tap the brakes in park while the car is on, I wasn't the first one to call about it and it is totally normal.......
The car has never made that sound EVER?

Be persistant with the dealer and don't take no for an answer! Follow zx-319's advice, make them show you a new car that makes the same noise. My dealship drug their heels for like two weeks in replacing my transmission. I just kept taking the car straight to them everytime it messed up and they eventually gave in.
What about just purchasing an extended warranty on the powertrain that goes into effect after Mitsubishi's warranty runs out at 5 years/60k miles? At my request, the dealer where I bought my Ralliart sent me a brochure on getting an extended warranty, so that's what I plan on doing if I still have the car when it's nearing the end of the factory warranty.
If you were a warranty provider would you be willing to pay for repairs on a transmission that has had to handle more torque than what it was intended to?
Rock, if I were you I'd be persistent with the dealer and require them to show the same sound on a brand new car. Yours is almost new and should have any suspicious rattle or sound like this one.
Our dealer is pretty crappy when it comes to honoring warranty work. Example: I had to pay 100$ to have them replace a wheel stud that broke just a month after I got the car... I didn't want to argue too much for 100$. But just because of that they lost any future business they could have with me.
By your signature, I'd say you already no longer have any warranty left on your engine and drivetrain... When you're at the point where you need to "revert back to stock" when you do you maintenance, it's pointless to purchase an extended warranty because the moment you'll go to get a repair they'll void it right away because the car is no longer to factory specifications.

Actually, I'm in much better shape than most of the people on this website. I have very few mods and am running significantly less power and torque compared with the vast majority of guys on these forums, so it only takes less than an hour to put my car back to the same way that it was when it rolled off the assembly line from the factory. The only time that I ever have to "revert back to stock"(as you put it) is when I need to take the car into the Mitsu Dealership for recalls or warranty work, which has only happened 1 time since I've owned the vehicle. So, I really don't think you can make the assertion that I don't have any warranty left on my engine and drivetrain, because plenty of other people with LOTS more mods than me have been able to get their transmissions replaced by removing all aftermarket parts and reflashing to the OEM tune before taking the car into the Dealership for a warranty claim.
Take the money you plan to spend on your extended warranty and get a transmission cooler and deep oil pan. This will greatly helps toward protecting your transmission and no-one will ever deny you this protection
And for 1600$ more you get the 600WHP clutches that will potentially double the power your transmission can deliver to the wheels. Thus giving you enough freedom to do all the mods you dream of
But.. That's the way I see things... I've had those extended warranties in the past and their not as protective as we expect them to be. They would not sell them if they were to be non-profitable...
