vmr wheels

im trying to use a wheel adapter from a 5x114 to a 5x120, which i found but that sets the wheels out another inch. the offset of the vmr wheel also would set this out but im not sure how far... the offset of a M3 is 40mm stock and these are a plus 35. so it would stick them out way too far, does anyone know of any thinner wheel adaptors?

Why is this not in the Wheel and Tire section?

In my experience, any spacer over 5 mm has the potential to ride like crap. I haven't tried a bolt-over spacer, although I know many people who have. The results are mixed, as far as I can tell. I would advise against this, if you can find another wheel that you like better.

(By the way, offset doesn't mean anything to me without the wheel width.)

please for the love of god use your better judgement and dont ghetto rig your car. Get a set of real 114.3 rims, not some hack jobbed 120 setup that will end in disapointment, and possibly worse.

People run adapter set ups all the time without issue, there wouldnt be a huge market for adapters if they didnt. Using adapters is not ghetto rigging.

Spacer and adapters are not the same thing. Adapters bolt to the hub and another set of bolts attach the wheels. The only reason a spacer over 5mm would ride like crap is if they are not hubcentric. An adapter should not be 5mm or smaller, there is not enough area for the studs to mount to.

Please do research before spouting off crap

There is such a thing as a 10mm "bolt-over" spacer. I know someone who sells them. I know people who "run" them. I can't imagine that they are radically different than this adapter thingy, but hey, if you say so, I will take your word for it. You learn something new every day, it seems like.
