New Here...AMS Question

Hello everyone!!

I am happy to say I just purchased my brand spankin' new 2011 Ralliart Sportback.

I am coming from an '07 Eclipse GT. The difference is unbelivable.

I'm not going to knock the Eclipse because it was a great car but it pales in comparsion to the Ralliart by a landslide in almost every category.

I also live in a wintery climate for 4-5 months a year and it has proven to be the best winter car I've ever driven...(AWD system...incredible).

That being said, spring is around the corner and I'm happy to say...THERE IS TUNER SUPPORT FOR THIS CAR!!!!!! (unlike the Eclipse which I waited years for).

I don't want to do anything too major aside from a reflash and a panel filter.

I've looked at most of the minimalist options and it seems one of the best is the AMS Stage 0 reflash.

Has anyone done this and added a Works or K&N high flow panel filter?

COBB seems like a good choice but they don't have enough options on the AccessPort (for the panel filter additon etc...).

I would like to hear from anyone who has an AMS reflash. Have you had problems...added any other mods that worked with it, etc...

Look forward to hearing from everyone!

I just found the GST free flash on a forum...

Has anyone installed the GST 93 Octane+Boost Pill+High flow panel filter?

This seems to be the cheapest way to go since...it's a free re-flash!!! Amazing...

I have the 91 oct flash since 93 is hard to find here in Sudbury, but other than that I do have a panel filter and boost pill and haven't had any issues so far.

Also, is this the correct Boost Pill to go with the GST Reflash??

I can't seem to find the Boost Pill on the GST site...

Here's one from Ultimate Racing:

Thanks for the response guys! I'm definitely going to go with the GST 93 Octane + Boost Pill + Panel Filter. I downloaded the file already and there's a local shop here that will reflash my car for $25 (instead of going through the hassle of getting the Tactrix wire etc...).

I'm also going to have them save my stock file for safe keeping.

Petro Canada here in Quebec is pretty common and they have 94 octane. They are the only ones but it's common enough that I don't have to worry about it.

Last question, where did you all get your Boost Pills? I posted one right before this for the Ultimate Racing one. Woudl that work or is there a specific GST one. I can't seem to find theirs...

Have you timed your new 0-60 or 1/4 mile with these mods?

The Ultimate Racing boost pill will work fine, so does the GST pill and the AMS pill. I have the UR pill because they're in Canada so shipping was cheap and no duty. Don't want to pay $75 for a $20 pill

Perfect! Same here...I'm going to order it right away.

Thanks for all the advice everyone!!

PS: I saw that people were running low 13's with the GST tune + Boost Pill. Anyone with the addtional panel filter see gains in their 0-60 or 1/4 mile?

Also, are there dyno numbers for the 93 octane + Boost pill upgrade tune??

I believe right on page one is the dyno plot using 93oct. and boost pill. A panel filter will give you around 5hp. There is a thread on here quoting Modified Mags. findings when using a drop-in. I have the Cosworth panel filter because it is a dry filter. Oiled filters could mess up the MAF sensor. Not likely but possible.

I believe the Cosworth filter is the same as the Works filter. Works couldn't disclose who makes theirs but it's someone they are "closely associated with" which is, Cosworth. They are both even blue. They even said theirs flows better than the company that manufactures theirs!

All that being said, I ordered my Ultimate Racing Boost Pill, Works Panel filter and will be reflashing my ECU March 18th with the GST 93 Octane+Boost Pill.

I can't wait!!!!!

EvoOtto: I see you have v2. Is their a reason you haven't switch to the v2.5? Also, what did you notice the most when you did these mods (you have done exactly what I'm going to be doing aside from the EvoX BOV)....curious.

Also EvoOtto: The dyno graph's on page 1 of the GST reflash thread are only for 91 octane...

No one has posted a 93 octane + boost pill + panel filter (optional) dyno with the GST tune.

That why I was curious if someone that had the setup has dyno'd their car since.

One last question to you EvoOtto:

Did you get the 93octane + boost pill BaseMap custom tuned or did you just reflash with the basemap that is available??
