Emptying Fuel Tank

Is there any way to completely empty the fuel tank on the 9+ Ralliart? I don't think syphoning works very good.

I doubt there is a drain, but dropping it and flipping it would work.

This is a pretty random first post, why do you need to drain all the gas, or is there something else in there?

Unless you put in diesel in by accident....haha...drive it until it's empty. If it's regular octane gas (87 oct), you will just get lower performance until it's empty.

Random first post indeed!

Driving it until it's empty is a very idiotic solution. I'm sorry I can't offer a solution that works for you, but I just had to comment. Please don't drive it until it's empty, unless you want to ruin your beautiful car. I feel dumber just reading these comments...

How are they idiotic? and how is it going to ruin the car? From the post we don't know why he needs to empty the tank.

The fuel pump is cooled by the fuel - run it dry and you over-heat the pump.

If you did put <91 octane - just buy 104+ OCTANE BOOSTER [tm].

More importantly - why?

When I was at RRE they were bleeding out E85 to switch back to dino fuel on someones car; I believe it was through the fuel rail, before it reaches the injectors. I'll take a look later, but I wouldn't be surprised if there is some sort of "nipple/nozzle" to allow for this. They simply let the car idle and drained fuel into a 5g gas can, until the car shut off.

So, there are a couple of reasons I asked. Filling it with 87 accidentaly and also when I go to the drag track and only want to get a gallon of racing fuel.
I thought about the octane boost and that is a good sugestion, but have heard mixed things about it.
BTW, I'm running AP Stage 2 93 map.

Take off fuel return line at the FPR, attach long line to it, put long line in a gas container, start car and run the car until it pumps all out.

I've done that over 30x on over 30 different Evos.

On the RA/10 I haven't found a gas tank drain plug like the Evo's before had.

Here is a thought, why not drill a hole in your tank, tap it and install a metal/plastic drain plug with a rubber gasket rated for fuel?

i know its not very specific to your situation, but instead of running the car out of gas, which sometimes isnt possible if it wont stay running (like if e85 was pumped accidentally) or whatever, you do everything listed above except instead of starting the car, just open the relay box and remove the fuel pump relay and jumper the switching side of the relay with a paperclip and let the pump run all of the fuel out without actually starting the engine

Don't drill/tap the fuel tank. Have a pro do it - huge fireball danger.
