How to empty fuel tank?

whats up guys..

exactly like the title says...any instructions on how to do it?

siphoning wouldn't work with new cars i guess cause the tank entry is shielded...so any other ways?

There is a drain plug on the bottom of each side of the tank.

if there isnt you can disconnect the stock hose and put a rubber hose on the "out" at the fuel filter to a fuel jug and put it on the "accessories" to power the fuel pump

can you drain the tank and then turn the key to the on position to get all the fuel out of the lines and fuel rail?? will the pump push it out??

the reason i ask is because im soon to be runing pump 93 and c16 race gas and dont want them to mix at all

You can remove all the fuel easily by plugging a rubber hose to the fuel return line, near the intake manifold. Simply remove the current hose plug in another one with the other end to your storage and turn on the car.. the pump will pump out the gas quick and easy.

So do you have a lower grade pump gas in there now or you just dont want to mix the straight 93 with the 93/c16 mix? Either way just run the car with the mix for a while first if you want it through our your system.

After replacing my fuel pump on my talon twice, I would recommend this method. I am guessing the evo can be drained just like the DSMs.

This method is probably the fastest method, if not the easiest.

Bringing this back... when I tried the hose to a gas can from the fuel return line, the line started sputtering, and my AFR went very rich but the car still ran fine. It removed a lot of fuel but there was definitely still some in the tank.

It was suggested to me not to do the fuel return line method but to just use the 2 drain plugs on the tank to remove my 93 fuel, but it doesnt seem very doable because I dont have a lift and wouldnt be able to keep the car level to do this properly, nor do I have a big enough drain pan to catch the fuel.

Is it bad for the car to empty the fuel out with the return line method?

Do the fuel return line method, but use EVOSCAN to actuate the fuel pump instead of having your car run...
