I just got the slow down message with my first launch attempt at the track yesterday using the tapping method. Next time I go to the track I think Ill give it some cool down time before driving in straight through tech and straight into the staging lanes. I was scared to launch it as aggressivly afterward and could only manage a 1.96 60'.

 

Sounds like you are hitting the max temp for the transmission before it goes into limp mode. Maybe a temp gauge for your transmission is in order, or an after market cooler.

Even cheaper! Log your temps and see what's going on.

I would like to state that more and more as i listen to the tranny, it seems to make more noise.

Whether Im now directing my concentration more on the SST after my litte incident or it was just the same back then as it is now!

Bryan, I do remember you mentioning that these SST's are noisy, as well as, other individuals.

Im not concerned really, im going to change the fluid soon and see if that makes a difference.

NOTE: the tranny is noisy (ratteling only at idle and low RPM's).
